  • Although the movie has such a crap story.Due to Dhanush it makes a engaging one, and the Father getup with moral ancient tamil values that also worked well . FINAL VERDICT :For Dhanush fans this movie gonna big treat For General audience it is vast boring holy crap 5/10
  • The story and screenplay are not so good. Revenge, Martial Aarts pictures. There are no special scenes in the movie. Dhanush fans will be able to watch the movie once. A waste of time. No one will watch this movie in any way.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Old fashioned predictable revenge movie without offering nothing new to the story as well as screenplay. The viewers can know what happens next. The songs also didnt worked anywhere. But some sentiments worked out (we have seen in the old movies). The other positive is that the action scenes also worked at an extent.

Bottomline - Mixture of many recent and old movies.
  • Appreciate the whole film crew for brought out our very own martial arts Adi murai to the audience. and dhilip subarayan did well in stunt choreography.

Good Movie. Everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs and BGM in the movie were good. The movie was so good at 1st half. The movie somewhat lagged at 2nd half but the movie was not so boring. Fight scenes in the movie were excellent. Good Movie.
  • I've always been a huge fan of legacy turned modern vibes - yep!

This project is way off my liking vibes simply because nothing has worked here - the story, feel good factors, mesmerising acting from D (which Dhanush is equality in my senses/dictionary of perfection)

This is simply a project where we are tried to be convinced and to proclaim martial arts originated from south India - we bought into it after Surya's movie (so hard to remember that name - something like 6th or 7th sense)

There nothing here for you guys to feel excited about - if you an avid fan of Dhanush (like me) just watch this and move on. I know we will be getting some mega blockbusters from the lad in years ahead (let's please do a Kannada movie with D) but yea.....

    Screenplay - 3/10 Story - 1/10 Feel good factor - 3/10.. if you D fan then 6/10 Direction - 5/10 My D factor : 7/10 liked him in the old/young factor (Ranjhanaa 10/10)
  • After their successful collaboration in the political action drama Kodi, Dhanush, and Durai Senthilkumar are uniting once again in the sports action drama Pattas. Unlike their previous outing, Durai Senthilkumar went to make the typical father and son revenge film blending it with a refreshing element that adds so much color to the overall output. Pattas speaks about "Adimurai", ancient martial arts. Durai Senthilkumar made it appealing to the masses by adding it into a convincing commercial template. Pattas seems to be the ordinary revenge drama that we use to watch for a few decades but honestly, it's one of the well-made entertainers in Tamil. Despite the slow pace and the not so focused first half, Durai Senthilkumar made us stick with the film for the overall entertainment experience. Again, this is a film that revolves around Dhanush who plays a dual role. As the responsible father Thiraviyaperumal, Dhanush strikes gold. He is perfectly fitting into the role making it a big treat for his hardcore fans. As the conman son Shakthi aka Pattas, Dhanush seems to play a character that has the shades of his previous roles in Thiruvilayadhal Arrambam and Polladhavan. He is entertaining in every aspect. The climax fight scenes are a delight to watch. After Dhanush, the biggest surprise is Sneha. It's very rare to see a strong woman role in a commercial entertainer but in Pattas, Sneha's role has a very big impact in making the film pretty much interesting. She does effortlessly the stunts and shines as a performer in the film. There are scenes where Sneha overshadows Dhanush and it's worth watching it. The rest of the supporting actors doesn't have much to score in their scopeless roles. Vivek-Mervin's songs and background score are the usual fan treat in this film. Overall, Pattas is a proper commercial entertainer with refreshing elements.

Trusting your root is more beneficial than adopting an another culture is the message all the movie gives.A perfect Pongal family entertainer. Both father-in-law and son-in-law stole the box office and people's mind.
  • The movie is one time watchable for dhanush and sneha.both did it well Moreover I like the bgm 💜it was terrifying And I like the father dhanush role. But the movies characters was not well defined especially that new actress who pair with son dhanush and the villian is not at all suit . The story line is same which we seen in recent times but the pattern of showing was different.

Overall its a watchable movie . The bgm of the movie make the movie better. And the performance of sneha and father role of dhanush.

Broke all rules of storytelling & filmmaking together.. What a poorly directed film. No idea why an artist like Dhanush would agree to do a film like this. I hope he atleast got paid well. Don't waste your time watching this one.. Go watch YouTube clips of the martial art form mentioned in the film, it's way more entertaining & informative...
  • What do you expect from Dhanush after a powepacked performance in Asuran? - Definitely not this! Try sticking on more to your variety of natural performances. 'Adimurai' concept is good! Chill bro song is foot-tapping. Overall it has a stereotypical storyline with good performances by the lead. FINAL WORD - You wouldn't regret if you skip this!
  • Warning: Spoilers
The plot is age old revenge story of a son avenging the villain for his father's death. There are some elements that makes this movie an interesting watch like the 'Adimurai' part, son realizing to fight out in the ring and a short scene on ethical fight. But, it could have been better if more importance given to such short parts. Instead, the narrative steers down to usual way at the end. A potential plot lost due to conventional story telling!!
  • A story that has been made multi-million times in Indian cinema. The only difference that this movie has is that it re-introduced old martial art which they claim to be the mother of all recent martial arts. The screenplay could've improved in a much better by adding many connecting scenes as they did for portraying the protagonist's power being distributed in both his hands equally calling it ambidextrous. Dhanush is the wonderful addition to Tamil cinema, he just simply fit into any kinda role just like that and does the act so efficiently that it's very hard for us to point out his flaws. A good role for Sneha after a very long time.

Can appreciate director for a good content But overall movie is total waster
  • The film is as formulaic as you expect it to be. It's a basic revenge drama that's set against the backdrop of mixed martial arts. Adimurai, one of its oldest forms, is used as a storytelling device in the flick (A R Murugadoss tried something similar in 7aam Arivu). While the martial art is intriguing and plays a significant role in its fight sequences, the revenge plot is hackneyed, predictable, and filled with melodrama. Sneha shines as Kanya while Dhanush and the rest sleepwalk through their respective roles.
  • I don't know how this movie got a review like 5.8, it's not a 9 movie either as my rating...but I have given it a bit more than its deserved 7 or 7.5 just to balance all that..... definitely one of those entertaining and interesting south Indian movies....trust dhanush and just watch it for yourself....

    Warning: Spoilers
Nothing is special Darbar is 100 times better Can watch only for dhanush acting
  • Horrible movie !

I mean there is no story, full of cliches, pointless, one dimensional characters and cringe worthy lines !

    Avoid like the plague.
  • Though the story is predictable, you will experience many scenes that makes you jump out of the chair. Background score, action sequences and the acting was very good. Sneha must deserves an appreciation for what she done in this movie. Make over of Dhanush was also superb. Hats off for the entire crew for let us know about adimurai.....
  • This is one of the best movies for traditional martial art lovers. It build around the ancient martial art called "Adimura" and it includes a well scripted love story to make the blend correct. On of the best Tamil action movie with great story line, I would say this is a must watch one.
  • Salute for exhibiting the Tamil traditional Art Adimurai but the detailing work was very less. Usual Story and screenplay. But we can notice some interesting facts like teaching art to the baby during the time of pregnancy, Adimurai formation and styles. Songs are very pleasant to listen. Given importance to all those characters. Decent Family Entertainer. It will satisfy all the family audience. Hope it may fillup the box office collection.
