Whatever you hate about Netflix you will find it here:stupid cliffhangers, huge holes in the scenario, unbelievable situations that just look stupid, choices that Noone would ever make and personalities that don't make sense. It made me angry. The ending was beyond stupid. I put 5 stars only for the dance scenes.

First off, you guys have to remember that these are trained professional dancers, acting came later for them. While the acting is questionable sometimes, it is a good story and one that sparked my interest and was able to keep my attention, see it for yourself and don't pay attention to the negative reviews.

Not good but not too bad either. The actors aren't great but I'd imagine their pool of actors with these dancing capabilities was rather small to pull from. The storyline was interesting but had quite a few confusing turns that were unnecessary.

I know when this type of show is cast, they have to cast professional dancers and so not everyone is going to be a great actor. However I think the dancers did a good job in this show. The only person I wasn't overly keen on was the actress who played Nevaeh. She could have been cast better. Also Lauren Holly was the wrong choice for the character of Monique Du Bois. For me, she didn't have the acting chops to pull this character off. Someone like Viola Davis bringing Annalise Keating vibes would have been perfect in this role.
Despite this I really liked the show. It's Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars meets Black Swan. It was a good storyline although it was very predictable. It wasn't difficult to guess who pushed Cassie and it was also easy to predict what happened right at the end as well.
One thing I didn't like at all were the odd dream sequences that many of the characters had. There were too many and I felt the cheapened the show a bit. They started to become very annoying.
All in all it's a good show with some solid performances and a very very good soundtrack. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Okay, first thing's first: this is not a great show. It's barely even good. You could blame it on the fact that I'm probably not part of the intended demographic - I'm 30, and kind of "over" stories where high school in-fighting drama is what drives the plot, but because I did take dance lessons when I was in high school, I still felt like this might be up my alley. And I mean, it kind of is. I ate it up - binged it, even.
The thing is, though, that although the frequent dancing's pretty good in and of itself, the messed up plot line distracts you from the show's aesthetic aspects.
If you're going to watch this show, get ready for characters that are incredibly difficult to care about. There are very few that are genuinely likeable, and those that are make some very questionable choices that will have you rolling your eyes and smacking your hand to your forehead. One other thing that's immensely frustrating about the characters is that no matter how awful a character is, no matter what horrible things they do to sabotage someone else, no matter how much they lie and cheat and manipulate, no one is ever forced to face any form of punishment for their actions. It's just brushed to the side and forgotten, all of a sudden they're all friends again (without explanation) and after I've tried so hard to care about these characters, it's painful to not even get the satisfaction that comes with watching that one really, really mean girl come face to face with her actions - and the consequences they entail.
Secondly, characters will hook up (and occasionally even declare their love for one another) with ZERO build-up, and it's bizarre. So be ready for that. This show is not for those that like to ship characters.
Thirdly, themes like sexual harassment, sexual assault and grooming do occur throughout the series... and are dealt with terribly. Just terribly.
Then there's the issue of PACING. Jesus Christ, the plot is just all over the place. It's very, very confusing. Characters will randomly hook up with each other (leaving the audience utterly perplexed), blame each other for Cassie's fall (the crime that's supposed to drive the plot), characters will be lovey-dovey one minute and start arguing the next, a boy is shown to be suffering from bulimia but it's never really dealt with, and there's a police woman who is desperately trying to solve the case because of reasons that have nothing to do with the rest of the story (from what I can tell anyway - I'm only on episode 9). There are SO many shifts in the pacing of this show that it's hard to take it seriously.
And yet, I watched it all. It's oddly addictive, the way shows with pretty actors, lots of nudity, good music, drama and an attempted murder mystery are. If you have 10 hours to kill and you just wanna find something to binge watch, I'd actually recommend this show, because even though it's kind of dumb, unrealistic and poorly paced, it's pretty entertaining.

This is a decent show with a decent storyline. It's nice to see a ballerina of color. Several different types of relationships. The dancing is well done. This is one of the shows that may have several seasons. Pretty sure this will be renewed.

The trailer looked great. I was very excited to watch a show like PLL. But that first episode... the writing is BAD. And them lines?! The timing is horrible. At one point they even talk over eachother. They sound like they're really trying to act, by overdoing things, to makeup for the fact that they can't act lol. Can't get through the first episode.

It's an okay show, lots of drama and backstabbing. There are a lot of gratuitous sex scenes, even a few that push the envelope of appropriateness, such as teachers/staff sleeping with minors. I give it a big "Meh"

It has a decent plot that is obfuscated by mediocre acting and the fact that the entire series is misplaced in terms of time period. The show should have in a college setting. A high school setting is a complete misfire for the plot. Add to that a terrible score, unnecessary settings that are designed to sexualize teenagers (eg, why so many scenes in a sauna!?), and you have a formula for a completely forgettable series. It's a pity really.
I get so tired of people criticizing about scenes and actors. These are young adults, check out this story line and drama. Well done. This show is entertaining for the all 50 minutes it is, which is so hard because some shows are drawn out, sluggish, and not attention grasping. This was a great show. Can't wait for season 2.
Read me here.
The story is engaging enough to keep on watching that if u are willing to look past the cringe worthy dialoge. C'mon if the show ever gets a season 2 the writters needs to step up their game. I feel like they watched 10 episodes from CAOS, TVD, PLL, Gossip Girl and Riverdale and decided that's how Young adults talk in real life.
The actors are real dancers and that's a hugeee plus. It makes it more appealing. The dancing scenes were all well done and the plot was more about the dance and their life in the academy than the mistery around the girl in a coma and that was something fresh.

It had potential in the beginning... but then it quickly revealed itself to be empty and cast by "actors" without range... a story plot that is tacky, predictable and probably should've been targeted to an audience of 13 & below. When all else fails, they attempted to insert sex scenes that were not remotely hot, exciting or thrilling.. everything about the show lacks heart. Aside from the dancing, it offers nothing.. nothing at all. By episode two I was on my 100th cringe... between the machismo from one of the dancers who can't fit the shoes of a bad boy claiming "his" block in a ridiculous street brawl, and his on screen romance with another one of the dancers that borders on the non-consensual, I literally just couldn't.. it's all so forced. It should've been left on the SeanCody editing floor. Their backstories are so petty that it's impossible to get invested into any of it. A show so vacuous that it makes Keeping Up With the Kardashians seem like Shakespeare. The only difference is that their show should still be on the air.. Tiny Pretty Things shouldn't; Black Swan you are not, Goodbye!

Well I guess you need to make a compromise, do I want quality dancing or quality acting? Very hard to find both. But that doesn't explain the poor writing. I'll continue to watch because I'm a little intrigued by the mystery, and I'm interested to learn some of ballet terminology because my 7 year old daughter has ballet once a week. But I don't think I'll watch a second season if one is made.

My first review here. It's so bad on so many levels that I'm only 20 minutes in and I had to write this: if you're looking for a real, true grit ballet drama, with all the insights and looking the part characters, amazing actors, script, story and dancers watch instead Flesh and Bone. This is one is not that. And please stop with the 3 worded titles already.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series and seems like a good first season! Hopefully the acting will be refined if further seasons are produced!

If you absolutely have to, watching it on 1.5 speed will not make you miss out anything important.
If you must know the ingredients of this chaotic mess of a series, let me just summarize it for you: standardized teenager plot, lots of sex scenes after every insignificant conversation, painful script, lack of common sense and just plain weird decision making process, bizzare settings, plain weird changes of behaviors, characters that are so unsympathetic and annoying, below average actors, wonderful dancers.
I hate the producers, the writers, people funding it thinking this was a good idea.
2 stars because the dance was nice. But not enough to save the train wreck.

If you are on the fence based on the love it or hate it reviews ask yourself this,
Do you like beautiful, sexy people?
Do you like capers?
Do you like murder mysteries involving beautiful, sexy people who can DANCE?
If you answered yes to 2 out of 3, then this show is for you.
Unfortunately, because of lack of funds in Art programs in public schools the days of finding triple threat talent ( dance, sing, act) are diamonds in the rough but the soap opera style drama and the actual dancing more than makes up for the acting which seems to improve as the episodes go on. The cinematography was excellent, the color schemes and music choices were also something to appreciate. It was nice to see the diverse cast get solo dance performances and storylines. Anyone who is offended by "teenagers" having too much sex on TV needs to make space on the large soap box as to why adults are always portraying teenagers on "teen" dramas anyway (Andrea Zuckerman anyone?).
I'm relieved to see it got below 6 here. The dialogues are over-dramatic and the acting leaves so so so much to be desired. Flesh and Blood is much more intense. For relaxation, I recommend Bunheads!!

I found it somewhere between a Disney Family Channel drama and something on REALLY LATE HBO. At the end scene, I kept hearing the Scooby Doo theme song, because they're kids who are really... active.
It's got AWESOME dancing... although it might be nice to have more modernity WITH pointe. Black Swan would be a great next choice for the recital.
Anyway, if they can find that balance that it needs, then it's totally worth another season. Keep it Netflix!

It seems the dialogue is copied and pasted from I am 13 and this is deep.
If you dance in the dark, is it still called dancing???
If a ballerina falls and nobody is there to catch her, does she make a noise???
Do you think a ballerina dances better after she is raped???
Angry dancer: "I am soooooo angry because she/he did this and that. This and that will never happen again!!!" And the situations are solved with spontaneous dance-offs???
Don't anticipate I can see everything you're thinking???
I don't know what audience did they try to target with this? Too much sex for a teen audience. But dialogue and plot are not good enough for an audience over the age of 13. And why does everybody take their cell phone into the sauna? Absolutely nothing in this show makes any sense. They must have run out of ballet dancers because the dancing switched to contemporary for no reason.
Who read this script and said Wow!!! This is great, we should make a show out of it? Even though the season ended on a cliffhanger. Don't let them do it again!
Just rewatch Flesh and Bones.

I get it, this serie is not Dance Academy, but it is not a 2 out of ten either. Maybe a 6, at least in my point of view. It is not a masterpiece, but I found it pretty entertaining and nicely built
