  • The overall subject and imagination in this show is refreshing, but the rating doesn't seem appropriate for some of the content. TV-Y7 is usually free from sexual references, but not in this case. For example, the grandma has adult sleepovers and there have been some 50 Shades of Grey references. As a parent, I don't think these drop-ins are appropriate for the audience that the TV-Y7 usually draws.
  • It did take it a moment to get rolling, but it is a good family show with decent family fare. Its no stranger things, but then again, its no stranger things. Fun side imagination jaunts as a family learns the new normal as they deal with life's and deaths changes.
  • Fun storyline and great sets and nice special effects. Acting is pretty good for the kids.
  • It's cute. I liked the acting and the characters and the story was cute. I thought the family was cute. It was fun and entertaining to watch. It unfortunately got cancelled so the story isn't complete but what I got I thought was fine and pretty cute.

Simply put, the movie was a disappointment. The book is a good, old-fashioned classic. The series is far too modern and uses the book as an entertainment object and a diversion from grief. The episodes were rather emotional and sad. The grandmother was a wild woman and there were multiple innuendos that were not appropriate for the TV-Y7 rating. I will not be showing this to my pre-teen boys. While the story line was ok, I do not feel that it did justice to the classic nature of the book.

One episode and a half is enough. This series is lame and confusing. The actors were annoying. It's just a whole mess of a series.
  • Good family show without being too campy (nothing like the Disney channel shows). Covers some tough family topics (my wife tears-up a bit sometimes), but keeps things light hearted overall. My 8 year old loves it and my wife and I enjoy watching it with him.

Was hopeful for this but not for me. I think it was written by people who are very anti-tech for kids. The type that think children should be outside 'playing'. All a bit cheesy and smacks of somebody not liking modern life. Can't see modern kids liking it but can imaging their grandparents enjoying it. Also it didn't flow very well and some of the characters especially the grandmother were just awful.

Love every bit of this show. Has good moral messages, suprisingly similar to 'The Durrells'. Worth the watch. The acting and script were brilliant If you are thinking of watching, be open-minded, and some of humour, more adult orientated will go over young people's' head Have fun watching this series. Fingers crossed for season 2!

Love the show. A cute show to watch with the family. Don't take it to seriously and just enjoy being together and watching something with a lesson in each episode.
  • Thank you Amazon. I read earlier reviews that talk about swearing and other inappropriate material. I honestly don't understand where that is coming from. The material is, if nothing else, real. This is not a Disney production. Some quarky family members, but that's the way it is with my family. The whole family should see this series. I for one hope it gets slated for more episodes.
  • It's always a challenge finding something that our whole family can sit down and watch together. This show definitely fits the bill. The show is fun, while dealing with some heavier issues at times. But mostly, it's just a funny, enjoyable show with great actors executing great writing.

As a viewer, I especially like the way the show deals with some of the struggles that younger kids face. Does it make a profound impact? No. But that's not the point. It's a light-headed look at being a family, dealing with loss and navigating the waters of life.

I would love to see this show come back for a second season. And my kids would too. This is good quality, family entertainment at its best. We need more shows like this for younger kids.
  • My husband and I first watched it and loved it. We introduced our grandkids to it and now they also i be it. We watch it with them every week when we babysit them, We all love the concept of this series. Erin Hayes is perfect in her to lead as the mom struggling to help her children understand.
