Quibi has been downloaded more than 2.7 million times since its April 6, the mobile streaming service revealed on Wednesday. The streaming service, which launched on April 6, pulled in 1.7 million in its first week. It added an additional 1 million in its second. Quibi founders Meg Whitman and Jeffrey Katzenberg had previously said they would shy away from releasing any kind of subscriber information. The new service is offering a free 90-day trial for people who sign up this month. Afterward, it will cost $4.99 per month for ad-supported streaming and $7.99 per month for ad-free streaming. Quibi also revealed that it’s five most-watched shows are “Most Dangerous Game,” “Chrissy’s Court,” “Flipped,” “Punk’d” and “Survive.” Katzenberg added in an interview with Reuters that some users would have the ability to cast the mobile content onto their connected TV sets as early as next month. Some users had complained that they could only watch the content on their phones.

The company, led by founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman, also announced that its app has been downloaded more than 2.7 million times in the first two weeks. In the first week, according to the company, it hit 1.7 million downloads.
According to analytics company Sensor Tower, Quibi has around 2.3 million downloads to date. The Quibi figure “seems reasonable assuming they are counting all possible installs,” said Sensor Tower head of mobile insights Randy Nelson, which may include re-downloads; installs on multiple devices per Apple or Google account; or iPad downloads of the iPhone-only app.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that downloads do not equate to active users, as some of those who downloaded the Quibi app have likely watched very little of the quick-bite content.

Quibi will be the next streaming service to enter the game next month, when it finally launches to the public on April 6. With 51 series, including four original scripted projects, Quibi will have one of the largest libraries of original content out of all the recent streaming services to debut in the next few months.
The company says it will premiere 175 original shows and 8,500 short-form episodes — dubbed “quick bites” — within its first year, with the content divided into three categories:
1. Movies in Chapters: Big stories told in chapters that are 7 to 10 minutes in length.
2. Unscripted and Docs: This episodic category is food, fashion, travel, animals, cars, builds, music, sports, comedy, talk, variety, documentaries and more. All with episodes in 10 minutes or less.
3. Daily Essentials: Curated daily into 5-6 minute quick bites of news, entertainment and inspiration.
