The Filipino Anime at its best!
This animated movie, inspired from the legendary warrior princess of pre-colonial Pangasinan, was proudly created by Filipino animators. They impressively depicted an epic tale during the time when Spaniards had not conquered the Philippines yet. Aside from the talent provided by the award-winning actors, the musical numbers and funny antics were a special feature of this film. Though the visual effects were western-inspired, the story and the cultural elements were definitely Filipino. And besides being nominated in categories of Visual Effects, Adapted Screenplay, and Musical Score, its Original Song won the award which recognized the talents of its lyricist, composer, and vocal performer namely, Joey De Leon, Ogie Alcacid, and Regine Velasquez respectively. And on that note, this all-Filipino anime film was surely a winner!
