Military vehicles drive through the night, while meteors rain down from above. They come to a stop on Morgan Edge's signal, get out, and look down at a spaceship in a crater. Morgan says that now the resurrection begins.
Now
Morgan is in the Smallville stadium with Kyle and Mayor Dean. They're watching the high school football team playing, and Kyle talk about how long the grandstands have been there. Morgan notices Lana on the field, and Kyle notices Morgan's attention and explains who she is. The CEO says that they should have dinner with Lana, and Kyle hastily agrees.
Lois and Chrissy are in the stands, and see Morgan and the others. The town votes the next day on whether they grant Morgan mining rights, and Lois figures that Morgan is out and about to show he's a "man of the people". Sam arrives and sits down next to Lois to watch the game, where his grandson Jonathan is playing in the home opener. Clark is on the field as the manager.
Coach Gaines sends Jordan in and tells him to get the ball. Clark assures Jordan that he's got it, and Jordan picks up a fumble and runs to a touchdown. Jonathan is less than enthused, and Sam asks Lois if there's something she wants to tell him.
Later at home, Sam tells Lois that Jordan has powers. Lois insists that Jordan doesn't have power, and Sam says that the sons should stay under the radar. Sam isn't happy that Clark's priorities have changed, and Lois tells Sam that Clark is being a father.
Clark comes in and tells Sam that they he and Lois know what they're doing. Sam warns that the military is terrified of Superman, and he's the one who keeps them in check. He points out that nobody has seen Superman in weeks, and criminals and the government are reacting to Superman's lack of activity. Sam tells Clark that he should escort Thaddeus as Superman, as a sign of good faith. Killgrave was a genius who was radicalized because of his hatred for Superman.
When Clark says that he's not going to throw away time with his family on a sign of good faith, Sam says that he'll stick around for the weekend and help "pitch in".
At the diner, the team celebrates and everyone congratulates Jordan. Jonathan, Sarah, and Taj "Tag"'Harris are watching, and Jonathan points out that Jordan doesn't even like football. Sarah suggests that Jordan has evolved, and Tag notes that he can't play because of his bonfire broken arm at the party. When Tag worries that Jordan might not succeed in the playoffs, another player--Corey Wellnitz--overhears and comes over to pick a fight. Sean breaks up the possible fight between the two.
At the restaurant, Lana, Kyle, and Morgan have dinner. He points out that Lana had a high grade in college, and suggests that he can help her if she wants to make a real impact
At the Gazette office, Chrissy reads the article that Lois has written in response to Dean parroting Morgan's talking points. Chrissy is happy with the article, Leslie comes in and gives Lois her Daily Planet contract. She warns that Chrissy publishing Lois' article is a breach of her previous contract. Once Leslie leaves, Chrissy tells Lois that she can't risk publishing a word that she writes.
Tag returns home and goes to his bedroom, and looks wistfully at the trophy he won. He cuts off the cast on his arm, and his arms shakes with unexpected energy.
The next day at the Kent farm, Clark runs plays with Jonathan and Jordan. Once Clark is alone with Jonathan, Jonathan tells his father that it's hard that he is on the bench and Jordan had the game ball. Clark tells Jonathan that there's room for him to step up.
Lois comes out and asks Clark to speak out against Morgan at the assembly, because she can't. Clark agrees, and Lois goes to the mines to confront Morgan where he's at. She assures Clark that she can handle herself.
At the city hall, Kyle reads the article that Lois ended up writing. Lana is with him, and says that Morgan is a jerk because he promised her a job opportunity. Kyle says that he was right there and Morgan didn't do anything untoward. Lana says that Morgan made her awkward and he didn't notice, and walks off in exasperation.
Lois arrives at the mine, finds Morgan with his assistant Leslie. She accuses him of having her article changed, and tells Morgan that if he sues her, she'll counter-see and go through her records. Lois asks why Morgan is going after Smallville, and Morgan asks her why she's there. He figures something important to her is there, and he plans to find out what he is. Morgan tells Lois that she'a past her prime, and Lois says that she has one more ace to play and will bring it to the assembly.
At the school, Haines is running a video of the game, and tells them that they have to work on their mental games. Tag storms out and Jonathan goes after him.
Sam returns home and contacts the convoy to get a sitrep on Killgrave.
Killgrave is in a straitjacket in a convoy truck, and talks about how society is spoiled and needs a wakeup- call. He spits out a substance on the back door, and tells the soldiers that he made an explosive in the prison that is triggered by particular vibrations. With that, the substance explodes.
Jonathan follows Tag into the bathroom. Tag is in a stall, his arm shaking again. He yells at Jonathan that he's fine, and the cast on his arm explodes. Clark hears it with his super=-hearing and goes to the bathroom.
Sam gets a report that the convoy is under attack. Clark hears it just as Jonathan tells him that something is wrong with Tag.
Killgrave's men attack the convoy, and free their employer.
Clark and Jonathan go to the restroom, and Tag emerges from the stall. He says that he cut off his cast because it was bothering him. Clark hears Sam's SOS and tells Jonathan that he has to go.
Killgrave whispers into a drone, and then it flies off.
Superman arrives based on Sam's lead, and finds the drone but no sign of Killgrave. Killgrave's recorded voice says that he'll see Superman soon. Superman flies through Metropolis searching for Killgrave but doesn't find him.
As Sam leaves the farm, he tells the brother that he's sorry about the changes they have to endure. Sam says that Superman is the most important force for good on the planet, they have an obligation not to waste his time or distract him. Once Sam leaves, Jonathan says that he's worried about Tag, Jordan offers to take Sarah for a ride.
At the assembly, Kyle says that Morgan has kept all of his promises and they should approve the motion. Clark hasn't arrived, and Lois tells Chrissy that he does a lot on the farm. Once Chrissy walks away, Lois leaves a message for Clark. She sees Morgan in the back and starts to go over to confront him. Lana interrupts her and suggests that they have a girls' night out.
Dean calls the vote and everyone votes in favor except for Chrissy.
Late, Lana is at home and prepares to go out. Clark arrives and apologizes for not being there. Lois finally says that the vote was important to her, and now she feels guilty for her asking him to do something he's too busy down. She says that it feels like she's low on Clark's list of priorities. Her Lyft arrives and Lois walks out.
Jordan and Jonathan go to the party Wellnitz's cabin, with Sarah. Tag is there and he says that his arm is fine. He goes off with Jonathan, and Jordan and Sarah talk with the others.
Superman goes to the base, and Sam says that he should do him the courtesy of doing his job. The hero says that since he's there, they should figure it out together.
Lois and Lana go to a bar, and Lois talks about why men prefer action to talking. She asks if Kyle and Lana are good, and Lana says that they have their moment. Lois respect that Kyle loves Smallville, and figures that the romance and marriage get lost in the shuffle as they get older. Lana tells Lois that when Clark came back to Smallville, he was confident and self-assured. She figures that Clark changed because of Lois, and says that Lois brought out the best in Clark.
At the party, Tag is drinking heavily. Sarah says that she feels bad for Jonathan, and tells Jordan that Jonathan looks lost. She figures that the two of them are rebelling against expectations. Jordan tells Sariah that he likes football and hasn't had issues with his anxiety. They agree to give Jonathan a little more time.
As Tag gets some more alcohol, his hand vibrates. He grabs a table and it shakes as well. Wellnitz comes over, notices a broken bottle that fell off the table, and is furious with Tag. Tag says that he'll fix it, but Wellnitz doesn't believe it. Jonathan comes over to intervene, and Tag runs off. Jordan notices the commotion and comes over with Sarah, and Jonathan says that he'll find Tag.
The military get a hit on Killgrave at Morgan Square. Superman flies there and finds Killgrave's men there. They said that they were just told to get Superman there, and Killgrave uses a handheld sonic blaster on Superman. Superman is deafened by the blat, and Killgrave stops shooting and says that he thought the authorities would move him while Superman was distracted. Killgrave shoot Superman again, and repels him when Superman tries to charge at him.
Jordan follows Jordan, and they find Tag in the woods. Tag's whole body vibrates it, and he says that he can't control it. Jordan figures that Tag's condition is because of something he did with his burst of heat vision, and tells Jonathan to trust him. He runs over, grabs Tag, and holds him still at first. Tag starts vibrating again, knocks Jordan back, and Jonathan runs over to his brother and grabs the ELT to signal Superman.
Superman hears Jonathan's signal, knocks Killgrave and his men back with a sonic clap, uses his heat vision to destroy the blaster, calls Sam to let him know Killgrave is down, and flies back to Smallville.
Tag passes out and collapses, and Jordan starts vibrating. Superman arrives and flies Jordan high enough that the thin air calms him down and stops him from vibrating.
The next morning at the farmhouse, Sam, Lois, and Clark tell Jonathan and Jordan that Tag is with the DEO. They found yellow phosphorous in Tag's body, and that and the heat vision triggered his abilities. The DEO is sending him to a special school to learn how to control his powers. Jordan wonders how many kids are at the school, and Sam says the information is classified.
Clark wonders why his sons didn't use the ELT sooner, and they look at Sam. Clark and Lois talk to Sam separately, and he admits that he might have "misspoke", and Superman is the most important person in the world. As Clark and Sam argue, Lois finally tells them to stop and says that Sam used to pull the same "honor above all" crap on her.
Sam says that he has a duty to the military duty, and Lois tells her father that if he keeps pushing them. Surprised, Sam says that he'll leave.
The next morning at the Cushing house, Kyle makes breakfast for his family and Lana comes out from the bedroom. She assures Kyle that he has lots of specialties and they kiss, while Sarah covers Sophie's eyes.
That night, Jordan tells Lois that Clark needs her help with the harvester. He takes her out to the barn, while Clark has set up lights. Once Jordan leaves, Clark says that he hoped they could play catch-up on all the nights he missed with her. They have some wine and Clark tells Lois that his time with her gets him through everything else. Clark assures Lois that he loves her, and Lois' phone buzzes.
It's Sam, who was calling his daughter to ask if Superman could get involved in a developing "situation". Clark says that Lois isn't there and he'll let her know Sam called. Once Clark hangs up, Lois tells Clark to go and she loves him, and he speeds off as she blows him a kiss.
At the base, Sam looks at the dog tag that Luthor gave him. He then makes a secure call and tells his lieutenant to open a new project numbered the same as the numbers on the dog tag.
Morgan goes through the mines with Leslie, picks a spot, and has her punch a hole. She easily does so, and they look at the X-Kryptonite inside, enough to raise the dead. Morgan assures Leslie that he can find enough willing volunteers.
