  • Clearly, most of the reviews of this are fake, or planted. Who, except for those paid would write something like that? They read like studio release announcements. So yeah... this movie is pretty bad. The script is stupid, ridiculously stupid. The plot lines are nonsensical, situations are unbelievable and many times cringeworthy. For a movie that is supposedly to be a comedy, it's not funny. There are many, many rip offs of scenes from other movies. Stereotypical drinking scenes that make you shake your head. The acting is pretty bad, the editing is lame, the soundtrack is cheap. Yeah, this is a bad movie, not funny at all.

It's just bad. I wasted 45 minutes on it thinking it might get better. Dumbest old idea premise. Throw a couple of faces at the trailer to lure peopole in. Let's get drunk and puke college BS might appeal only to those who are actually in college still doing this childish stuff. Do yourself a favor and watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off again. It will be far more entertaining. Ok, I guess I need more characters or it's not good enough for the review. I think this is actually a steal from Legally Blonde movie that, although different, is on a similar path. I actually watched that whole movie, and as goofy as that was, it's tolerabe chewing gum for the brain.

To everyone saying it's funny, I think I know why :/.

We watched because we like "Molly" but I'm giving it a 4 because Jamie Presley is great in it and the only funny one. Molly was freaking annoying with her over the top cool party girl and yelling like a banshee all the time. The other actors all must have been going back to college to finish degrees too because everyone is like 30-40 years old, definitely not 18-24.

The college antics were foolish, we were dumb in college and partied and did silly things but the embellishments they did to make the movie funny made it very not funny. There were a few funny parts, like the gym scene with the mascot (no spoilers). Maybe things are really different now but I'm only a little older than Molly is supposed to be as a lawyer. I know to each their own but this is a place we are allowed (maybe) to voice our opinions of a show or movie for others to take into account. Sorry but There's no way this movie gets 8's much less 10,'s please!
  • Is this movie a 10 at a 10 because its one of the top movies out there? No. But to all of the commenters saying there's planted reviews because there's no way this movie is funny, I'm clinically depressed, but this movie made me laugh the entire time and not a lot of things make me laugh nowadays. Maybe because Im half the target demographic, a millennial, with the other target being genz. I loved the references in the jokes and the judge's attitude had me dying, absolutely relatable. The older you get the less tolerance you have for stupid s***. I honestly did not expect this movie to be so good, I just put it on as background noise essentially, but it's going on my list as one of my feel good movies.

I will give this movie credit for a few things. They did not go down the road I was expecting. They did not have the woman sent in to help -fall for the young college student. They did not have the women sent into help act like a stupid college student. At all times she seemed like an adult with that advantage over all the college students. They also had her go back to college with a friend which was really different than I was expecting. But the plot, the script, was terrible. Whoever wrote the script seemed to have never actually been to college and had to use what he thought college was like... with cringe scenes of drinking and girls acting like sexpots. There was no journey, just a series of scenes. Also a real problem here is that all the actors seem far too old to be in college - particularly the main character - played by Ty Simpkins. Though actually young in real life... here he looks old.
  • The director Andy Palmer masterfully orchestrates a laugh-a-minute ride, brilliantly casting Britt Robertson as the film's lead. The movie, set in the vibrant atmosphere of a college campus, spins a tale of transformation and self-discovery with an irresistible blend of humor and heart.

Robertson, portraying Molly Singer, a party-loving attorney faced with the challenge of mentoring her boss's socially awkward son, Elliot (a role brought to life by Ty Simpkins), embodies the character with a magnetic mix of wit and charm. Her comedic timing is impeccable, turning each scene into a delightful spectacle. The chemistry between Robertson and Simpkins is particularly noteworthy, adding layers of humor and warmth to their shared scenes.

Andy Palmer's direction is a triumph in this film, showcasing his skill in blending uproarious comedy with poignant moments of personal growth. The casting choices are spot-on, with each actor fitting seamlessly into the world he creates. "The Re-Education of Molly Singer" is a testament to Palmer's vision and ability to craft a story that's as hilarious as it is heartwarming, making it a must-watch for anyone seeking a comedy that delivers both laughs and a meaningful narrative.
  • Whoever wrote the first 20 or so reviews apparently never actually watched the movie and just assumed it was their duty to rave about it because of the eluded to PC hopefully involved. Whenever the user star ratings are very low and all of the review ratings are 10 10 10 it kind of gives you a clue. So nothing funny from opening credits to closing credits does have a slight exception. The feeble attempts to slur white people and of course anyone assumed to have so called conservative values is kind of funny in and of itself. All of these attempt at comedy we're so feeble they fell on their face immediately. Again, the only time you could come close to a chuckle was because of the stupidity in the attempt. I've been a big Britt Robertson fan since Life Unexpected several years ago but trying to pass her off as a college party girl just doesn't work. Although cute as a button, she in no way resembles any type of former College roughhouser. Her token gay friend doesn't even pull that off convincingly whatsoever. He only proves that it's okay for a gay man to slap another man, obvious assault, but not for anyone else. Even though this little so-called comedy pushed every college cliche comedy button nothing ever works in a funny way. No halfway realistic looking parties or funny hazing or anything of the such. Robertson's character never seems to grow at all and her hopeful protege never has any type of epiphany moment either. And his almost 30 year old costar love interest playing an 18 year old College freshman doesn't help things at all. No reason for either of them to do so. After this 2 hour attempted college comical trice and I mean attempted in a generous way, you will walk away not having being bestowed anything, not even a wierd smile and wishing you had your two hours back to possibly stare at drying paint which is somewhat funnier.
  • Where do they find those lazy writers and bad actors lately???

This movie is unoriginal, trying too hard to imitate other comedies like 'No Hard Feelings' or 'Never Been Kissed'. It's as if one is watching a collection of the unfunny pieces of former comedy movies lazily stitched together with the actors just accidentally being there without any spark between them. Even the loud, mainly teal costume design feels tired. Rather than offering fresh insights or original humor the movie constantly leans into situations that border on the absurd without ever fully committing to the humor (for example an overly lengthy drinking game scene with a terrible narration that has no punchline).

The dialogues and story line appear to be AI generated - as do all the positive reviews on here to be honest - and with lackluster performances and jokes that don't land, this film struggles to elicit even a chuckle from its audience. I wish i could give it less than one star.

Wow. Much much better than I expected. Very funny at times....a little long but solid. Probaby could have been about 20 minutes shorter. Nico santos definitely stole the show for me. Have been a big fan Since watching him in Superstore. Some of likes were LOL funny. Shocked that Britt Robertson hasn't been in more films she was so good in this movie. Loved her in girl boss too. Need to see more of her. The guy who played Stu was a perfect fit and made a great villain. Some of the humor was cliche but it worked for me more than I thought it would. Also shocked to see how grown up the kid from Jerry McGuire is. Made me feel old. Not a life changing movie but definitely worth the watch.

Loved the movie from the beginning to the end to the outtakes. It held my attention and I laughed throughout the movie. It was well written and I would highly recommend this movie to all my friends. In todays world we need more movies like this that can make us laugh.

I loved that Molly was forced to go back to college and help someone who probably had no self confidence to begin with. I remember how hard it can be starting out in any university setting and feeling unpopular. I loved the fact that she was forced to go back but once she did she changed somebody's else's life. The whole audience was laughing. Love Brit Robertson Nina.

In this film, the story revolves around Molly's quest to save her job by returning to her alma mater. The mission: to transform her boss's socially awkward son, Elliot, portrayed with a heartfelt sincerity by Ty Simpkins, from a campus outcast to a confident student. The narrative, while playing into some traditional college comedy tropes, stands out with its witty script and dynamic character arcs. Robertson and Simpkins together create a compelling and humorous dynamic, making their characters' growth and evolving friendship a highlight of the film.

The supporting cast, including Nico Santos and Jaime Pressly, adds depth and humor to the narrative, each character contributing to the film's exploration of themes like friendship, identity, and the importance of embracing change. The film's portrayal of college life strikes a balance between humor and authenticity, avoiding the pitfall of overused stereotypes.

Director Andy Palmer skillfully navigates the comedic elements while maintaining a heartfelt undertone throughout the movie. The film's pacing is well-managed, ensuring that the story remains engaging and the humor impactful. The Re-Education of Molly Singer is not just a comedy; it's a story about redefining oneself amidst the chaos of life's expectations and the unpredictability of growing up. It's a film that resonates with audiences looking for both laughter and a meaningful story, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.
  • A fun, in your face, college comedy that fits right in with all your favorite comedy classics like Back to School and PCU. Lots of memorable, wonderfully written jokes and one liners. It is also one of those movies that you can re-watch from any point and just enjoy regardless of where you picked it up. For anyone who's been to college, visited a college, or wanted to go to college, this is one that will give you a delightfully fun look / look back into what was for so many, some of the best years of their lives. Highly recommend and will no doubt dig up some forgotten memories that you may have acquired while in college yourself.
  • Last night I went to see Molly Singer.and friends bring back a lot of good college memories. The actors especially Britt Robertson played college kids to a T. Her sidekick Nico Santos also fit right in with the college party scenes. (which were hilarious) Barnett, or whatever fictions name the gave to the College, sure looked a lot more fun then my University experience.

The authenticity of the various locals, from the frat house, dorm room, cafeteria, etc were spot on asI recall my college years. The bullying and rush party shenanigans scenes also looked similar to decades ago.. in addition to stellar acting performances, the director and writer(s) had me just waiting to see what came next. 4****
  • One of the most notable aspects of this film is its ability to tackle relevant and contemporary issues without losing a sense of relatability.

My daughters were particularly impressed by the portrayal of Molly's struggles and triumphs, finding them both realistic and inspiring. The script is well-written, balancing moments of light-hearted comedy with deeper, more introspective scenes that encourage viewers to reflect on their own life experiences.

The performances are outstanding, with the lead actress delivering a particularly memorable performance. She brings a natural and genuine quality to Molly, making her both likable and relatable. The supporting cast also deserves praise for their contributions to the film's dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

The Re-Education of Molly Singer, released in 2023 and directed by Andy Palmer, is a vibrant and witty comedy that delves into themes of growth and maturity. Starring Britt Robertson as Molly Singer, a charismatic party-loving attorney, the film is set against the backdrop of her old college, where she must embark on a journey of self-discovery to save her career. Robertson's performance is a standout, brimming with energy and charm, perfectly capturing Molly's irrepressible spirit. The film cleverly navigates the balance between humor and character development, avoiding typical romantic clichés and focusing instead on personal transformation.

The narrative, while following some familiar tropes of the college comedy genre, brings a fresh perspective with its focus on the protagonist's re-education rather than just the comedic escapades.
  • This film is an entertaining comedy with a plot that, while having its uneven moments, still manages to charm and amuse. The film, set in a college environment, weaves a story of personal growth and transformation that intermittently shines with comedic brilliance.

Britt Robertson, in her role as Molly Singer, a fun-loving attorney tasked with reforming her boss's son Elliot, portrayed by Ty Simpkins, delivers a performance filled with energy and wit. While the plot occasionally stumbles in its execution, Robertson's vibrant portrayal keeps the audience engaged. The dynamic between Robertson and Simpkins adds a layer of entertainment, despite some narrative inconsistencies.

The casting is well done, with each actor bringing a unique flavor to the film. Overall, The Re-Education of Molly Singer stands out as an enjoyable comedy, offering a mix of laughter and light-hearted moments amidst a plot that, while not flawless, provides a satisfactory and entertaining experience.
  • Having seen The Re-Education of Molly Singer, my takeaway is that it's a film with its ups and downs. It delves into the idea of personal transformation and the trials of life, a theme that resonates in the current climate. The film endeavors to mix lighthearted elements with deeper, more reflective moments. While it hits the mark in some scenes, in others, this blend feels a bit off-balance.

The protagonist, Molly, is portrayed in a way that many viewers might find familiar, embodying a journey that's quite typical. There are moments, though, where her story treads into predictable territory. The supporting cast contributes adequately to the film, but I felt that some characters lacked the development they deserved.

It's suitable for those who enjoy a narrative about life's challenges and personal evolution, but it doesn't venture far beyond the conventional. It's a reasonable choice for a relaxed evening when you're in the mood for something that's mildly engaging and reflective.

I did enjoy it and don't get me wrong i watched it to the end but the blend of humor and serious themes is ambitious, yet occasionally misses the mark in terms of balance. The portrayal of Molly, the protagonist, is generally relatable, depicting a journey that mirrors a typical coming-of-age story. However, her character arc, while engaging, sometimes veers into predictable terrain. The supporting cast delivers adequate performances, though some characters lack depth and feel underutilized.

On the technical side, the film boasts commendable cinematography and a keen eye for detail, creating an immersive visual experience. The soundtrack, though diverse, is a mixed bag, with some selections enhancing the movie's atmosphere and others seeming somewhat disjointed.

This might appeal to those who enjoy narratives about self-discovery and change, though it doesn't entirely escape the pitfalls of its genre. It's a film with moments of clarity and charm but also one that might leave viewers wanting something a bit more groundbreaking.

  • The Re-Education of Molly Singer, directed by Andy Palmer and released in 2023, is a comedy that blends humor with themes of self-discovery and personal growth. Starring Britt Robertson as Molly, a vivacious attorney facing career jeopardy, the film follows her journey back to her alma mater to mentor her boss's son, Elliot (Ty Simpkins), navigating a path from social isolation to popularity. While Robertson delivers a dynamic performance, the film occasionally falls into predictability and fails to fully develop its supporting characters, played by Nico Santos and Jaime Pressly, among others.

Despite its reliance on some clichéd elements of college comedies, the film has its merits, particularly in the chemistry between Robertson and Simpkins. Their interactions provide heartfelt moments amidst the humor. The theme of changing your life and finding yourself is super relatable, especially with everything that's going on these days. It does a great job of mixing humor with some really meaningful themes, and although it stumbles a bit here and there, it mostly keeps its charm.

Molly, the main character, feels like someone you could actually know, which makes her journey feel real. There were moments where it felt a bit predictable, but overall, her story is engaging and genuine. The supporting cast adds a nice touch too, even if I wished they'd given a bit more spotlight to some of them.

Definitely worth watching. It's a film that gets you thinking and feeling, perfect for anyone into stories about personal growth and life changes. It's a solid pick for a movie night, especially if you're in the mood for something that's both entertaining and has substance.
