That was fun! It has some hilarious dialogue and great characters. And it's not always politically correct.
Despite being funny, there is a sense of dread throughout the film, because we know that something will happen, at some point. But when and how to situation escalates, we don't. And yes, If just no one would have tried anything stupid, then maybe everyone would have survived.
There are some memorable performances in it. I liked the bad guys and the family members alike.
The twist was a nice turn. Normally I'm not a fan of home invasion films, but I've never seen one this funny and engaging.
I also noticed some details on a second watch. And it changed my perspective on some characters the second time.
Will put this on my yearly Christmas watch list.

The reviews are clearly from friends and family of the director, writers and actors- don't waste your time on this. Literally nothing happens of any consequence.
This is quite possibly the worst film I have ever seen. Directing, camera work, writing and acting are beyond terrible. The plot is entirely pointless and even the audio is dreadful.
It reminded me of an A Level film studies project that received a really bad grade- the prompt possible reason to watch would be the appease friends that had made it. Even then it would be almost impossible to keep a straight face as everything is so obviously a pile of rubbish.

Watching this film was like sitting through a high school production where someone's edgy older brother took over directing duties after watching The Hateful Eight one too many times. The director's desperate attempt to mimic Tarantino was painfully obvious-and failed miserably. Instead of tension, we got painfully drawn-out scenes that were more awkward than engaging. The flashy camera angles and forced violence screamed "look at me!" but ultimately felt like a cheap knock-off.
The writing? It's hard to believe anyone took this script seriously, let alone gave it an award. The entire thing reads like someone googled "movie clichés" and crammed every tired trope into one bloated mess.
How this won an award is beyond me-unless they were giving out trophies for "most predictable plot."
The only saving grace-if you can call it that-was the actor who played Cody. It's actually shocking that they managed to rope in someone with actual talent for this catastrophe.

A great self-contained thriller!
I am a big fan of dark humour and it was well done and the characters were very relatable, my favourite being Cody played by Tim Hudson.
At turns funny and at others gruesome the producers and actors didn't a great job. At times it felt like you were there too, the tense atmosphere was projected brilliantly - there is also a sense of menace that pervades the film and adds to the tension.
I've not seen anything by the director/actors combo but will be looking out for them going forward - hopefully it's the first of many.
Something to look keep an eye on for the future.

This movie is a standout thriller that expertly mixes suspense with sharp humor. From the start, the film grabs your attention with its intense atmosphere, only to surprise you with perfectly timed comedic moments. This blend of tension and humor is rare, but "Thieves in the Night" pulls it off effortlessly.
The plot is engaging and well-paced, keeping you hooked while also delivering unexpected laughs. The cast shines, with strong performances that balance the film's dark tone with light-hearted moments. The direction and cinematography complement the story, creating a thrilling yet amusing experience.
Overall, "Thieves in the Night" is a refreshing twist on the thriller genre. It's a film that keeps you on edge while making you laugh, offering a unique and entertaining experience. Definitely worth a watch for thriller fans looking for something different.

Normally not my type of thing at all.. would never watch it by choice and would be near certain to hate this sort of thing, alas my partner wanted to watch it - so here I am. It's worth a watch.. I would never choose this sort of film by choice, and in honesty I wouldn't watch again.. but it did surprise me, in that I wanted to finish it.. given that it isn't my sort of thing at all as a preference, there's definitely something there. It's clearly low budget, but when you factor this in, some of the acting im great in moments(without the backing of major special FX etc). Some of it isn't great, but there are moments that are. If you like cult English films then you would probably love it. I would normally give say this sort of thing should be a 5/10, but as it was unique and kept me watching, it's fair to score higher. Give it a go.. don't expect Hollywood and then score it based on this.. this is the only reason that I could imagine there would be any harsh critics on it.

An incredibly well scripted and put together movie. Tim Hudson is phenomenal and plays the character brilliantly. He has you hooked all the way through from start to finish and the actors work well together.
The film is intense yet witty and has some humour built in, which makes it feel slightly darker and gives the characters much more of an edge. Tim Hudson for me is the stand out character, with his expressions, tone of voice, humour and other traits he has throughout the film for me made it and made his character fitted the dark side of the film.
All in all a very well put together piece.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I liked the randomness of it all. The villains did not go there to torture them and the father was not working at a bank. They just needed to hide and chose the wrong house. If they would have gone into another house, things might turned out differently.
Cody is my favourite character, because he has the best lines. The actor was good too. I also liked Mia and she was also played very well. The banter between the two is pretty good.
First I was on Ray's side, because he seemed like the only one that was reasonable. On the second watch I saw him a bit differently.
The uncle Ben character also has a nice attitude. When Cody insults him about his ginger hair and wearing a beige cardigan is my personal highlight of the film.
I would give a higher rating, but sometimes you can notice that it is a lower budget film.

I watched this film not expecting much being what I could only describe as a lower budget and not exactly mainstream movie but I figured I would give it a chance anyway and although it clearly wasn't a Hollywood blockbuster it was pleasantly surprising in that it felt like a bit of cult film. Very funny in parts and the actors did a fantastic job of portraying each individuals character's personality through out the duration of the entire film. At no point did it seem as though the cast were inexperienced at what they do. Tremendous props to everyone involved and I can only see these guys moving onto much bigger things.

I didn't have great expectations, as this film seemed like a low-budget and not exactly a mainstream film.
But in the end it was a good and also funny thriller!
The typical English black humor is well done, if you like such humor you can't go wrong with this movie. I don't really like British humor, but here it was actually quite good and as exaggerated as I expected. In the end: unexpectedly shocking but also somehow funny and amusing film.
I'm normally not a fan of such films, I'm generally not a fan of European movies. I love Hollywood blockbusters.
But I stumbled onto this one by chance, and to be honest I was about to turn it off after noticing that it was an British production and not an American one. However, out of boredom, I decided to keep watching.
And I have to admit, it's good. I could actually watch this movie more than ones.
Real good actors, interesting camera work. So big compliments to the makers and crew. Maybe I'll give European productions more often a chance.
One thing I really was funny was the end, without any spoilers 😉 But my favorite character was that guy Cody, played by Tim Hudson. Love the last scene 😁 but I won't say any more than that. Hope to see more from this guy in the future; looks promising.

A great contained thriller! The dark humour was well done and the characters were very relatable, my favourite being Cody played by Tim C Hudson. Some scenes had me shocked and others In a laughing fit. I have to take my hat off to the producers of this movie as for a contained one location film the tone was set just right, it was as almost like you were there too, the tense atmosphere was projected brilliantly. I am not usually a fan of "slow burner" films/movies but this is one can can watch again. Looking forward to seeing more from this producer and actors/actresses! Thieves in the night definitely worth a watch.

Thieves in the Night delivers a solid experience, driven by its palpable tension and strong performances. The film consistently keeps viewers on edge, with suspense that builds gradually and effectively. The atmosphere is charged, making every scene feel intense and engaging. The plot has an interesting twist that keeps you guessing where it will head to next...
A standout is Tim Cullingworth-Hudson, whose portrayal adds a layer of depth to the film. His performance is both nuanced and compelling, grounding the narrative with a believable and human touch. It is a well-crafted thriller that I enjoyed watching.

Thieves in the night is well written and well played out. A little slower to start but the humour on offer makes up for this. Storyline is easy to follow and as someone with adhd this is a winning factor for me, coupled with the humour kept me compelled to continue watching!
I used to play cards with my granny so this line really humoured me!
Not the brightest thieves in the night lol but certainly the funniest!
Well done to all the writers, producers, actors and actresses, thieves in the night is definitely worth a watch especially if you lean to a little darker humour! Overall a great watch.
