Nancy has a dalliance with Howard's visiting buddy; Sonny is desperate to win a Best Lounge Act award; Ginger dates a workaholic.
Another average episode that would have been better had they focused only on the A and B stories. We never even see Ginger's new beau and it seems like they just needed to give Sheryl Lee Ralph her share of lines. The series' biggest downfall was trying to evenly spread out the screen time for 7 characters in a 20-minute format. The writers probably reasoned that restaurant work is fast paced so their template was realistic, but it only makes the episodes come off as disposable fluff.
Once again, it's Jan whom Nancy confides in about her predicament and it's funny when we learn Nancy gave Roscoe a giant hickey. The wardrobe budget this season must have been cut because Nancy recycles the hideous green Cinderella's wicked stepmother ballgown.
The Lizzy Awards (short for Lounge Lizard) trophy is a plastic lizard wearing a tuxedo jacket.
The Ginger storyline this time allows her some moments of self-awareness, at last.
