Lou Lewyn's HOLLYWOOD ON PARADE series was produced by Paramount from 1932 through 1934. Like his earlier and later series, it purported to show Hollywood when it wasn't in front of the movie camera; in this one, Buster Crabbe tells the winners of the "Search for Beauty" contest that it's a 9 O'Clock town. So they get Lloyd Hamilton to squire them around.
As I said above, this was a production for Paramount, so it's no surprise they go to the premiere of a Paramount picture, Mae West's I'M NO ANGEL. We get Demille and associates talking about the site where he filmed his first picture. Then it's on to a costume party, where the performers dress up as other performers.
It's interesting to see the performers and non-performers outside their usual screen roles. Some of them, hyped at the time, have grown so obscure that I have never heard of them!
