Disney+ has unveiled a proper first look of German-Spanish actor Daniel Brühl as the titular iconic designer in the new show Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, produced by leading French film and TV company Gaumont.
Rush, Good Bye, Lenin! and Captain America: Civil War actor Brühl is shown sporting Lagerfeld’s trademark ponytail and black tailored suit of his later years.
Disney+ has also released a first subtitled trailer for the show.

Years after the word “kompromat” had its moment in the popular imagination during a certain Special Counsel investigation, Jérôme Salle’s thriller of the same name arrives as a nerve-racking reminder of just how life-ruining being targeted by the Russian government might actually be. Salle, who co-wrote the film with Caryl Férey, opens the proceedings with a helpful definition for the uninitiated — “documents used to destroy someone’s reputation” — as well as important context: “Kompromat” is based on a true story, though the principals are unnamed. The result is cold but competent, which, whether intentional or not, is ultimately apropos of the subject matter.

Snd has picked up the international distribution rights to “Visions,” Yann Gozlan’s (“Black Box”) psychological thriller starring Diane Kruger (“Inglorious Basterds”) and Mathieu Kassovitz (“The Bureau”).
The French Riviera-set movie, produced by Eagles Team Entertainment, 24 25 Films and Snd, just finished shooting in the South of France and Japan. Snd handles French distribution and worldwide sales rights. The theatrical release is planned for 2023.
Kruger stars as Estelle, a brilliant airline captain who leads a seemingly perfect life with her husband Guillaume, a renowned doctor. When she accidentally bumps into Ana, a former flame, Estelle falls in love all over again. As their affair gets more intense, Estelle has recurring visions, nightmares and hallucinations, and when Ana disappears mysteriously, she starts losing grip on reality.

Chinese filmmaker, artist and influencer Yi Zhou has launched a cluster of companies that have begun making feature movies for the metaverse.
Zhou, who departed China in 2011, trained in Paris and London, before settling in Rome for several years where she worked as an installation artist, fashion influencer for Chinese streaming site Tudou (now part of Alibaba) and short film director. Three of her shorts have played in Sundance, while another played at the Venice Festival.
In 2018, Zhou relocated to Los Angeles in order to increase her focus on developing entertainment endeavors. In 2021, she launched U.S.-based Into the Sun Entertainment and Into the Sun Films in Italy.
Into the Sun describes itself as “adopting a material-first, platform agnostic philosophy” and embracing disruption in the entertainment ecosystem, through which it “aims to connect smart stories and direct engagement with audiences looking for elevated content.”
