Comedy veteran Govinda, who is now attempting his second run at Bollywood success following a brief detour into a short lived political career, says that though the nature of the Hindi film industry has changed since he started out, he wants to “remain an actor all my life”. One of the major things the actor has learned about the contemporary film business is the importance of the promotions machine.
“Publicity drama has become a very important part for any film now. It is an important element. That’s the only reason why some of my previous movies didn’t do well.” says the actor – whose recent forays into film have included Do Knot Disturb, Naughty@40, Life Partner and Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. Unfortunately, none of these films replicated the runaway success of Partner, the film that marked Govinda’s return to the film industry following a stint in Congress representing Mumbai North.

Download image as wallpaper Not many are aware that Lara Dutta wasn't keen on acting in Blue. "Akshay Kumar had recommended my name to the producers. The moment I got to know of it, I called Akshay and told him that I wouldn't be able to accept the assignment. He knew the reason behind my decision," Lara tells me. The 'reason' is, Lara didn't know how to swim, while major portions of Blue were to be filmed in the ocean and swimming, therefore, was mandatory. "Not many people are aware that I had almost drowned while shooting for Andaaz. Akshay had rescued me," Lara enlightens me, "When I reminded Akshay I couldn't swim, he told me to forget my phobias and learn swimming pronto. Today, I feel Blue has not merely made me overcome my phobias, but has also taught me something that would stay with me for the rest of my life.

Riteish Deshmukh is looking forward to the release of two ventures Do Knot Disturb and Aladin. While the first will see him share screen space with comedy veteran Govinda, in Aladin he is pitched alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt. But the actor, whose stock is definitely on the rise, says that he is not here to compete with anybody..In fact, I think it is fun to work with seasoned actors. I try to do the best within my capacity. One can improve when the actor opposite is better than you. If I am compared to them, then I must say I am simply lucky. It means I have worked hard and finally arrived,. says Riteish. With a string of comedies to his credit, the actor is now being tagged a comedy specialist. .I have been doing a lot of comedies for quite some time. Do Knot Disturb is an out-and-out comedy too.
