Eight years after the Joker's reign of anarchy, the Dark Knight, with the help of the enigmatic Selina, is forced from his exile to save Gotham City, now on the edge of total annihilation, from the brutal guerrilla terrorist Bane.
According to Costume Designer Lindy Hemming, she took two years to design Bane's coat; it was inspired by a Swedish army jacket, and a French Revolution frock coat, to make Bane look equally dictatorial and revolutionary, "like an amalgam of all sorts of bits ... ...

When Batman and Selina are on the roof, Los Angeles landmarks are visible including the U.S. Bank Tower and One Wilshire. This is not an error, as many landmarks that are obviously from other cities (Manhattan island, Brooklyn Bridge, Heinz Field, Sears Tower, etc.) are present throughout the trilogy to keep ambiguous which city Gotham represents.
