  • Ayan is a typical movie in Tamil cinema which makes the industry to next level. This movie is one of the best movie of the year with great action, songs and acting..

K.V.Anand being a cinematographer turned director, shown his high talent for making this movie and became a finest director in Tamil industry. His first directional venture "Kana Kanden" fails at the box office but this movie "Ayan" will make him a proud man.

Suba's dialogs and screenplay sharing with K.V.Anand are come out very excellent and intelligent.

Surya is the excellent performer and he shows it again through the character as Deva in the movie. This movie will never suit for any other stars in the industry. And he is the only man able to do movies like this..

All other supporting characters are very good and did their role very excellent.Especially Prabu,Karunas and Tammanna.

Haris once again given the best songs with massive rocking musics.BG also very good.

Stunt is the very plus of the movie. All the stunt sequences are choreographed very well.

Also cinematography and Editing are very good.

Ayan is the must watch movie and i recommend this movie for all who loves great Tamil entertaining films..

    Don't Miss It..............
  • After a long time, it was nice to see Tamil cinema for what its known for, slick production values. Ayan brings out that very well thanks to the tight story which does not bore you, slick action sequences (especially the Congo chase scene) and good acting. Surya is in his element as a young smuggler. Akashdeep Saigal seems a bit over the top as a stereo typical villain but seems to hold his own. Other actors support the story well. What is nice about this movie is no unnecessary masala and sub plots to mar the overall tight storyline. Kudos!

Watch the movie for some refreshing acting by Surya and company. Watch it for virgin locales hitherto unexplored in contemporary domestic cinema i.e. Congo. Watch it for the tight storyline minus the regular masala.
  • This movie is soo thrilling and interesting. Everyone acted well. Kv Anand just nailed it. Few scenes could have been deleted. Good movie. Music was good and songs were excellent.
  • This is the very first movie i watched in theatre, and this is the one movie from when i became a die hard fan of Suriya.. POSITIVES:- 1. Suriya's screen presence 2. Cinematography 3. Songs and Bgm 4. Extraordinary Twists 5. Fast paced 6. Unique storyline 7. Breathtaking Stunts Etc.......... NEGATIVES:- I DON'T THINK SO IF ANY.. Some may feel the movie a bit slower in the 2nd half.. But the Climax makes them Forget the few negatives here and there. OVERALL:- THE BEST COMMERCIAL MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN💯💯

Wow!!! What an acting by Suriya, watched it more than 50 times and not getting bored

This was the first suriya movie watched in my life, after which I watched all his movies after and before ayan too . He is the perfectionist in everything. His acting is several times better than so called overrated Thala Thalapathy (not to offend anyone, it's the truth).

Hard to find the versatile actors like suriya. I'm not his fan but a cinema lover and I love his acting
  • Warning: Spoilers
Ayan is a complete run of a mill movie which has a little bit of everything. The stunts are good and fresh to Tamil cinema (especially the parkour sequence in the beginning) and the songs are well filmed. Surya is stunning and he surprises the audience with his each movie. Tamannah is cute. But the biggest drawback of the movie is that it sometimes tries to be too logical and it borrows a lot of concepts from Hollywood films. The action sequences had a lot of inspiration from movies like "casino royale" and the "Bourne" series. Even the concept of removing cocaine from a doll was inspired by Oscar winning "Traffic". But overall it's not a bad idea to spend 3 hours.
  • K.V.Anand and Auba were back with Ayan after Kanaa Kandaen (which was an excellent movie which became average hit due to lack of publicity). I have known them through a monthly 'super novel' where Suba(Suresh-Bala) were writers and Anand was a photographer which made them unite in film industry. I was a great fan of them and eagerly waited for this. And they are back with an excellent intelligent movie in which hit was written everywhere Surya plays a role of smuggler (not a serious one) which was characterized superbly and the movie moves in a jet fast with humor, thrill, action at right proportions. Especially first fight sequence was superb challenging Hollywood. Songs which was a slight let down from Harris has been pictured superbly locations mesmerizes us. Tamanna ,Vijay TV Jegan(which was a sweet surprise) , and Prabhu done their parts well. Story revolves around rivalry between two smuggling groups yet it was joyful ride with humor from starting to end. After lot of days i heard clapping in theater from starting to end and everybody came out of theater with smile in face which tells the films victory. We cannot categorize this movie into particular genre like thriller, action,or comedy. It is a new kind of genre with intelligently taken scenes which sometimes surpasses Hollywood and sure it also belongs to super duper hit genre.

    Warning: Spoilers
Ayan has quite a few things going for it. I went for this one, not knowing what to expect (which nearly always seems to work for me). The first half took me by surprise, owing entirely to a brilliantly crafted action sequence set in Congo. K V Anand (Director), M S Prabhu (Cinematographer), Franz Spilhaus (Stunts) and Suriya Sivakumar (Lead) manage to pull off what is easily one of the best staged action sequences in the annals of Tamizh cinema. Featuring Yamakasi, a form of free running or parkour, distinct from its roots in that it accentuates the aesthetic aspect of surmounting obstacles, the sequence has Suriya race through lanes and alleys in a bid to retrieve diamonds from a mob relaying it with ease. Strangely enough, the other action sequences lack the same degree of polish (a car chase later on comes close enough though).

Prabhu Ganesan dons a role that suits him and the Suriya - Prabhu dynamic works. Akashdeep Saigal of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi ...' fame playing the villain is a weak link even if the Sowkarpet locality demands such a casting. Tamanna Bhatia as Suriya's love interest has a pleasing screen presence, although there isn't much else to her stint here. The wit and humour in the film are the dicey elements - leaves you in splits one moment and comes across as droll the next. Where it does succeed is to Jegan's (Suriya's sidekick in the film) credit. The songs (Harris Jeyaraj) didn't really register for me. Halfway into the second half, one has the inkling that this might be a loose (very) take on a Hollywood movie (will refrain from revealing it here since it is nothing short of a spoiler). The movie demands frequent 'suspension of disbelief' and I found it wasn't a particularly difficult thing to give. It's primarily intended as a summer blockbuster by AVM, with a smattering of the new and the ground-breaking here and there. Entertaining fare, all-in-all.

The movie ws excellent. Everybody acted very good in the movie. One of the best movie of Suriya and KV Anand. The movie was so interesting and thrilling. The movie was not at all boring.
  • As Mentioned in the title, if you watch this as a movie it is a great entertainer. But if you expect something and go, you will be disappointed.

KV Anand, has taken Tamil cinema to a new dimension. You can see lot of Hollywood style stunts. Car chase and the fights like Jakie Chan movie.

It seems like Kanal Kannan worked with 2 other Hollywood director to make these scenes.

Congo- Africa, is good. KV Anand has taken time to think and shoot those shots.

He should not have copied Bourne Ultimatum jump scenes as you see on the trailer. He could have done something different.

The movie moves very fast only for the first half, second half kind of repeats everything. I have given my audio review @ http://www.movie.consultmirror.com.

I give 7/10, because of the Songs-Lyrics, Music, Stunts, Flow of the entire movie.
  • A very very 🔥 good movie. An must watch movie for movie lovers.
  • Veedokkade is a slick action entertainer that deals with the business of diamond trafficking with the backdrop of friendship. The plus points of the film are Surya, Tamanna and nice screenplay with good commercial payoffs. On the flip side, certain scenes (introducing heroine and her family as prostitutes / ghastly portrayal of friend's killing episode) may be offending for movie lovers of delicate sensibilities. On a whole, Veedokkade is a slickly executed action flick.Cinematography by MS Prabhu is excellent. The virgin locations of Africa are well explored (especially the locations of last but one song shot in a desert). Music by Harris Jayaraj is just OK. Fights by Kanal Kannan (especially the first chase shot in African country) are superb. Dialogues are adequate. Production values by AVM banner are grand.

Surya is most dangerous actor who can act in both commercial and artistical movies also. This movie is based on smuggling. Worth to watch it 100 times.
  • The Ayan movie is a good movie and good luck with the help of smuggler.
  • In this movie Suriya act very well .

Romantic movie Fight movie Friendship movie.
  • I watched this movie quite a few times, just watched it again cause liked it in my childhood and I wanted to know how I would feel about it now.

And it still remained amazing to me how the movie keeps the viewers focused while still maintaining the elements necessary for a full-fledged commercial blockbuster. Of course, there are unnecessary scenes in this like in very movie, but the good scenes outweigh the unnecessary ones in my opinions. All actors (especially Surya and Karunas) were well utilized (didn't like Jagan's character that much though, not for the acting but for how his character was written and he was somewhat predictable for me), the plot wasn't draggy at all, and overall the entire movie just went really smooth.
  • One of the best action gangster thriller of Indian cinema history.
