While flipping through channels one day, I came across the previews for this show and decided to give it a shot. Turns out I ended up liking it even more as things progressed in the first episode with ample character development and a plot with many twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat at a steady pace. The key aspect that clicked with me was the dynamics of this amateur group of detectives that have their reasons for joining in the fight for justice for those that have become "forgotten" by deadly circumstances beyond their control and with sheer determination and will, they become personally and emotionally involved in the case. With all the other crime shows out now, I would say that "The Forgotten" is nicely ranked up there with the likes of "CSI", Criminal Minds, and of course Cold Case. Lets hope ABC rests their laurels on this one. One of the best crime shows on the air.
  • I LOVED this show & I'm sick that ABC canceled it before it even had a chance. It was a unique idea that had real merit because it brought to light a situation that really exists and gave much needed publicity to the network that helps solve the problem. I have actually looked into how close the nearest network was & whether I have any talents that would be useful to them. The show had also started some very interesting discussions with my 13 year old that we might not have had without the show! At that age is doesn't occur to them that someone could die unidentified & unclaimed. We have also discussed how driven a parent could be to find a missing child &th until there's proof, you can't stop looking. Boo hiss to ABC!
  • Alex Donovan (Christian Slater) suffered a personal loss. He decided to start a group of like-minded civilian volunteers to identify John/Jane Does for the police. Everybody bring their own special skills to the team.

Of the three recent Christian Slater led TV efforts, I liked this one the most. Along with Christian, this star Michelle Borth, Anthony Carrigan, Bob Stephenson, and Rochelle Aytes. Heather Stephens was let go midway thru the season which lasted 17 episodes. As a procedural, it has just enough originality to be slightly different. The team has good chemistry especially from Michelle Borth. I guess that this just wasn't flashy enough.

I have been watching this show on DVR and it is actually a very good show. My wife told me that it was not doing very well in the ratings game so I figured I would do what I can to let it be known that there are people who love this show and would be sad to see it go. In every episode, they start with a body or, in some cases, body parts. Throughout the show you get a little more information until, at the end, they show you exactly what happened. I like it better than CSI, Bones, or any of the other similar shows. Perhaps that is the problem; the forgotten has been preceded by so many similar shows that people are tired of the same old same old. But give this show a try.
  • REALLY good show! Even overlooked it myself at first. Wanted to see it when it first came out, but it was on opposite one of my faves. Now, I usually watch this. If I can't catch it, I make SURE to dvr it!!!! All of the stories and actors are great in it! I have always been a fan of Christian Slater, and the other actor are up to his caliber. Elisha Cuthbert is a new and welcome addition! The story lines are very different from all the other detective shows. Instead of focusing on the criminal, this show focuses on the victim. It's all about identifying the "John Does" and "Jane Does" of this country. It focuses on putting some closure for some families out there. How many families a year have loved ones missing out there, when there are plenty of "Does" in our morgues and cemeteries? A much welcome and fresh new take on the "detective" genre. To the network,PLEASE keep it on the air!
  • This show was not your usual "CSI" type of production. I was impressed by the cast's way of depicting very different people from various walks of life who wanted to volunteer their personal time to identify someone who died "nameless". It was a terrific concept and I am sure it has inspired any number of people to pursue involvement in this worthy cause. So why did ABC nix the show?? I felt let down and disappointed that the show was discontinued. There are so many "dumb" reality shows on TV right now. Why isn't a show like this one valued when it is based on real and very sad circumstances that can turn out in a positive way for families who have missing children etc.?
  • Yet again another program, that I like, deleted without much of a chance given to gain an audience. Big surprise. Why don't we just put on massive amounts of "reality?" and other totally useless garbage shows, instead of nurturing the kind of "acting" series that might make us think once in awhile. Oh, I forgot, that's what they're trying to do now. My mistake. So many decently written and acted series have fallen by the wayside in the past years, to be replaced by these other mindless exploitation shows. It's really a shame. I guess as long as there are people wanting to see these other types, good shows like "the forgotten","Jericho", etc., don't stand a chance. Thank goodness for rentals, I guess.
  • I loved this show. It was original, well acted and brought to light victims we don't think of..Jane/John Does. Unsolved cases where the loved ones never have a chance to find out what has happened because there usually isn't enough time/money for the police force to follow up on finding the identities of these unclaimed bodies. It was at times dark, at times very funny, but always interesting and I just can't understand why it was canceled. I have always loved Christian Slater, he was one of the reasons I tuned in to the first episode and got totally hooked. Add Jerry Bruckheimer to the mix (CSI) and I knew it had to be good. For those that like CSI, NCIS, it's cancellation was a big mistake and a loss. Shame on the network for not realizing this was a gem of a show. If they have any smarts, they will reconsider and bring it back as a mid-season replacement.

I love this show, the problem is that this show is competing with the Good Wife for viewers. I think that it gives a different angle to a crime shows. LE doesn't always have the time to investigate unidentified dead cases. I also enjoyed "Without a Trace". I am so sick and tired of reality shows. I want something that is going to at least make me think. My family also enjoyed Sleeper Cell, but it was way to realistic. If only the public knew how realistic it is. Maybe the government made them shut that show down. So if you like to solve mysteries and like to problem solve, then this would be a show for you. I didn't know about it because it was always playing when the Good Wife was on, but one day there was a re-run, so we flipped the channel. We would TIVO them so we didn't miss an episode.

I am stating my opinion as to wondering why they took the forgotten off the air. I am beyond angry for doing such a stupid move! I want them to bring back the forgotten with the same actors and actresses. This is one of the best shows that I've watched since Jaws. So now my question is, "When are they going to bring back the forgotten?" Christian Slater is one of my favorite actors and I would love to meet him in person so that I could let him know personally. The other characters in the forgotten was also amazing people as they are a team. You do not want to break up a team! Just please, who ever decided to take this show off the air made the biggest mistake ever! Bring back this show and bring back the team! By Diana LaCroix in Omaha, Nebraska

I am so sad that this was taken off the air, it was such a great show! So interesting, you were always on the edge of your seat! I can't stand reality TV, it's such crap! I love these kind of shows! Of course the show I like gets canceled! BOOO! :( ABC you SUCK!

I guess everyone likes crap on TV, rather than something that is actually good!

I wish this show would come back, I hate the crap that's on TV now! Nothing good is on these days! What happened to good drama's and good comedy's? Reality TV is taking over and it sucks! It's all a bunch of crap!

I loved this show, really looked forward to seeing it every week. I realize its been gone a while now, but now there is a show on TV, starting tonight, called "final witness" , on ABC! and it looks to be just like this show except the stories are taken from real life. But in the new show they have the dead talking to you (well of course not the real dead)thru out all the reenactments, and they even say some of the stuff they said on this show. Makes me mad they can just bring on a different show but with exactly the same premise when so many liked the forgotten and they just ditched it. Christian slater is in a comedy now, I watch it because I like him but really the show he is on is no where near what the forgotten was (well it is a comedy of course).Really miss the forgotten :(
