"Epstein's Shadow" (3 eps, 1 hr, Peacock) is a short doc series on the incredibly infamous Ghislaine (the "s" is silent) Maxwell. This documentary is really only useful for those who haven't been following this sordid tale in the press and online. There are first hand victim/witnesses on the record so she will be nailed. Her trial is currently set to start in Nov 2021 but most think that'll never happen. She'll get a plea deal to spend time in a Martha Stewart styled prison for a few years and nothing but nothing will be further revealed of the Rich and Powerful predators involved because contrary to "laws apply to everyone", the Rich and Powerful are simply immune from prosecution, sad but true.

Lots of new stuff and interviews with people I had never seen before.
A professionally executed and enjoyable watch.

How did this documentary pass the checks and balances? They're interviewing a bloke who went on a date with her in Oxford decades ago, a former classmate (also decades ago) who clearly didn't like her then or now, and a tabloid journalist who briefly worked for her dad (you guessed it, decades ago). An apparent "former friend" referenced newspapers more than personal experience. I have watched a lot of documentaries, even scrappy amateur YouTube content put together by teenagers and undergraduates. None of it is as basic and lacking in substance than what I just watched. I wouldn't be surprised if Maxwell sued the producers.

It's what passes as 'reporting' these days but it projects such an opinionated bias that it is so one sided to just be laughable.
There is some new footage, but to suggest and overlay photos of Ghislaine with her father and Epstein, and suggest he was a daddy replacement is a joke. Ghislaine 'declined' an interview, like that would be a surprise, I would decline an interview from 3rd rate tabloid reporters!
Guilty or not I don't care, I'm in Australia and have no investment in this, but I'm sick and tired of biased expose' pretending to be reporting... thumbs down.

It's about time for Jizzlaine Maxwell to come out of the shadows & face her accusers. If she's innocent, she has nothing to worry about. I'm glad this documentary was made.

This is an interesting story to tell for sure, however they did not have to drag it out to three episodes. They put so much filler in and basically repeats themselves over and over again because the woman is just not interesting but the men around her is, they are the ones with stories to be told. They could easily have made this a 1.5 hour long interesting documentary instead of 3 hours long dragged snoozefest.

The same picture of Trump with Melania standing next to Epstein with Ghislaine, obviously at a party in New York, and obviously when Trump had dark hair, so at least 20 years ago. While the narrator said "rich and powerful are nervous..." Never mind that there is literally nothing to tie Epstein to Trump other then they were wealthy New Yorkers, and went to two New Years Eve parties together, where Trump is with his wife, and they are in public, not doing things together. Then of course the one picture of Epstein in private together with Clinton is shows so briefly, you can barely even tell its Bill. Bill Clinton who had flown on the Lollita express 27 times to the island, they barely even mentioned!!!!. Boy, big business just never misses an opportunity to try and slander conservatives. Other then that, nothing new at all. If you have been following along, you will know all this. Really, it would have been better if they did a show on Epstein, they are just trying to milk the trial publicity.

Great Docuseries. I wish there was more background info on Jeffrey E. As well as there was on Ghislaine. But it was not as much as expected. Father was a bully, poor Ghislaine narrative is not going to cut it during the trial, though, she will get the maximum sentence. Who else will be exposed is more important at this point. I am not too hopeful this case can bring any closure to the victims, nor I believe there will be any justice in the form of recycling of souls. However, it is a very educational to see how the rich entertain themselves and how the business is done. How weakness can be exploited. Hopefully pretty girls' parents will be more aware now and protect their kids more.
Where are the parents of these girls? And those over-eager interviewees. Please.
Bit embarrassing to appear concerned now.
Everyone looking for the right bus to throw her under...

Noticed that the Pea-cock network (which declined to report on Harvey Weinstein, mind) was careful to insert multiple mentions of Donnie J but none at all of Bill Clinton, who flew on Epstein's plane a couple dozen times and had Ghislaine at his daughter's wedding! Definitely some selective editing happening here.
Using cnn and Rachel Maddow as well as msnbc discredited the whole documentary absolute rubbish I feel for the victims as this documentary does nothing to help the cause, terrible.

If you have been following the Epstein saga there is no new information here. Still pictures of Ghislaine Maxwell superimposed on that of Epstein and Maxwell ( the father) and a host of people who " knew" her in her Oxford days and one person who is reluctant to say she "knew" her when she was with Epstein, in case she should stain her own reputation; a " Lady" who had no problem hanging out with Epstein et al when the going was good but "had no Idea that anything like that was going on."
You couldn't attend one of his parties or estates or his infamous island without noticing a group of underaged kids in attendance. But nobody noticed. A waste of time and as one other reviewer called it, " A snooze fest". Nothing new here folks, unless you have been in a coma or have been living under a rock since the Epstein saga began.

Surprised to see this prompted on my streaming service. This did not seem like a true documentary and felt more like a media puff piece.
For example, the first episode emphasizes the strained relationship she had with her dad growing up, leading Maxwell to seek relief in Epstein. No mention of how common this is with female convicts.
Alligator tears and a giant waste of time.

Largest part of documentary is abut epstein, not her.
I felt like it was only few people interviewed and not much about her really.

The doc definitely treated this despicable person with kid gloves, excusing her behavior because of such a "horrible upbringing" at the hands of her Israeli intelligence, media mogul, billionaire, fraudster father. Most of the things in this documentary I already knew but still worth a viewing for tidbits like footage of the Israeli funeral for her dad, he seemed to be very beloved over there. Of course NBC is the same organization that killed the weinstein story so let's keep that in mind.
