Oh wow, this movie is literally following steps of Campbell's "Hero's Journey" - I love it.

I also love these fight scenes and acrobatics in slow-motion (like in "Matrix").

It's so far my favourite Barbie movie.
  • At 17, I know I am a little old for Barbie movies, but there are a vast majority I have enjoyed. I am very fond of Barbie in the Nutcracker which is my personal favourite, and liked Rapunzel and Swan Lake. While Musketeers isn't the best of the movies, and I am not sure what Alexandre Dumas would make of it, it is entertaining and has a sense of fun. True, some of the dialogue is a little ropey(although I loved "we're here to save the prince not date him") and there are one or two slow moments in the plot. However, the animation, while not as stunning as the animation in Nutcracker, is colourful and overall the film is lovely to watch. The soundtrack is lovely with its highly memorable "All for one, and one for all", showing the importance of standing together, and the four female protagonists are very appealing. Plus the little kitten is very cute, and Phillippe is a convincing enough lead villain. The voice acting is most impressive; Kelly Sheridan makes Corrine daring, brave and resourceful, and that was lovely to see. Tim Curry, as always,(he very rarely puts a foot wrong, and I would like him to get more recognition than he's getting at the moment) is superb as the voice of Phillippe, with his velvety voice and swatty laugh, he was perfect as the villain. What a genius the casting director is for casting him, and anyone who saw Nutcracker will know he was the voice of the Mouse King, and he was terrific as that character too. All in all, while bearing little resemblance to the Dumas classic, this is still a hugely enjoyable animated film, and I do hope it gets a higher IMDb rating than it's got at the moment. Then again, it is early days, but let's keep our fingers crossed. Preschoolers will definitely love it. 8/10 Bethany Cox
  • Overall watching this movie again was enjoyable, had a good message but so many things did not add up
  • This is a movie everyone should watch. The Three Musketeers, here to help! This barbie movie is perfect for kids. Everything is PORFECTO!!!! If someone thinks this is a bad movie, it's an alien.
  • This is a really good movie. It's got well choreographed action, a good story, and likeable characters. Although some of the characters don't have tons of time on screen, they all manage to be memorable. This is definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of these kinds of movies.

    10/10
    10/10!
One of the best Barbie movies! This film is so well-made, the plot & the storyline. Plus, it's so nostalgic for me!
  • No matter how many times I watch this movie it never ceases to amaze me with it's forward-thinking plotline and contemporary references. Aside from being an adaptation of Dumas' "three musketeers" it has very developed characters with convincing backstories and motivations. I would 100% recommend this movie to any cinema appreciator.
  • -Graphics: Believe it or not, even tho this movie is from more than a decade ago it's graphics are better than most animated films of 2016-2021.

    • Plot: Many of my friends requested this movie saying that it's one of the best ones they've ever watched, so I was kind of disappointed. Not because it's a bad movie, it's just not as good as good as I expected.

    • Ending: Honestly, that was probably my favorite part of the movie, also that was the reason why I rated it with 7/10 instead of 6/10.

    • Songs: I liked them and they had a beautiful meaning!

Overall I recommend this movie only if you are a fan of barbie.
