Wallace, who is burned out from a string of failed relationships, forms an instant bond with Chantry, who lives with her longtime boyfriend. Together, they puzzle out what it means if your best friend is also the love of your life.
Daniel Radcliffe said in an interview that his role as Wallace is the first contemporary character he's ever played, having previously starred in mostly fantasy and historical projects. He said, "There was something lovely about just stepping up on set and talking."
Hey... I need to wear something to this company dinner with our production partners in Taiwan. What do you think?
Wallace: I think that's quite a dress.
Chantry: Do you think it's, like, a little too slutty for me?
Wallace: No. Nothing is too slutty for you.
Right at the start Wallace and Chantry are toasting with two bottles of beer. When they toast both bottles have their caps on. Chantry walks away and we see Wallace drinking form his (now cap-less) bottle)
The beginning of the closing credits are done with Chantry's animations telling some of the story of the movie as well as some of the back story.
