On paper, Brothers & Sisters and Harry’s Law are wildly different. One is a long-running ABC drama about a California family that can’t get enough sex, wine, and drama. The other is a freshman NBC series about a Cincinnati attorney and her merry band of justice-seekers. But now, they’ve got two important things in common: Both shows are fighting for places on their respective networks’ 2011-2012 lineups, and both are hoping to advance to the second round of TVLine.com’s first annual “Renew Our Show!” Sweet 16 Bracket Tournament.

Exclusive: Borat and Bruno helmer Larry Charles has been tapped to direct Fox's off-cycle comedy pilot Outnumbered. Meanwhile, Mark Piznarski, who directed the pilot for Gossip Girl, is set to direct another drama pilot based on an Alloy book series, ABC Family's The Lying Game. Outnumbered, an U.S. version of the British comedy series of the same name and revolves around one set of parents who are often overwhelmed by their three children. Barbara Wallace and Thomas R. Exclusive: After an extensive search, I hear Jonathan Sadowski has landed the young lead opposite William Shatner in CBS’ upcoming comedy series $#*! My Dad Says. The project, based on the popular Twitter feed by Justin Halpern, stars Shatner as Ed Goodson, a forthright and opinionated dad who relishes expressing his unsolicited and often wildly politically incorrect observations to his son Henry (Sadowski), a struggling writer-turned-unpaid blogger. Sadowski replaces Ryan Devlin, who played the role in the pilot. The network opted to recast the role when it picked the pilot to series in May. Co-starring on the Warner Bros. TV-produced series, executive produced by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, are Will Sasso as Henry’s brother the meek half of his husband/wife real estate duo with domineering Kathleen (Nicole Sullivan). Sadowski, repped by Wme and manager Susan Yoo, most recently starred on the NBC/Wbtv comedy pilot Our Show. The pilot’s other star,...

Many of you have asked about the status of NBC's Our Show. Larry Charles' experimental comedy presentation was an off-cycle order and I hear that NBC has not seen it yet. I bet it would ultimately end up on cable. The Warner Bros. TV/Wonderland-produced project is about friends who begin making episodes of their favorite sci-fi show after it ends. For once, NBC's cable sibling SyFy has been actively looking to get into the half-hour comedy arena. Our Show could be a good way to do it.

Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin are both returning to network television.
The husband and wife actors have landed pilots for the upcoming TV season, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Campbell-Martin has a regular role in ABC's "Wright vs. Wrong," as the Hollywood gossip-obsessed stylist to Evelyn Wright (Debra Messing), a strong, right-wing politician who isn't as unflapplable as she may seem in public.
Martin is heading over to NBC for the autobiographical Paul Reiser pilot "Next," playing a restaurant owner and best friend of Reiser's character, a former TV star who is now dealing with regular everyday life.
Additional pilot casting:
- Tyler James Williams ("Everybody Hates Chris") has joined "Our Show" on NBC
- The CW's drama pilot "Hms" has added Dejan Loyola
- Jonathan Slavin ("Better Off Ted") has joined "Team Spritz," a comedy on CBS. This is in second position to "Ted."

Larry Charles is a busy man this pilot season.
Epix has teamed with the "Borat" director for "iCon," a single-camera comedy project described as a savage satire centered on a fictional Silicon Valley CEO whose ego is a study in power and greed.
The project is being written by Dan Lyons, creator of the blogging Fake Steve Jobs, with Charles supervising the writing and attached to direct.
"ICon" is being produced by Media Rights Capital, where Charles has a relationship through the Mrc-backed feature "Bruno."
"We are attempting to do nothing less than a modern 'Citizen Kane,' " Charles deadpanned, "a scabrous satire of Silicon Valley and its most famous citizen."
Epix, a joint venture of Lionsgate, MGM and Viacom, recently shot its first pilot, the Nashville drama "Tough Trade," which is eyed to be the first series for the fledging pay-cable network. The project landed at Epix, which...
