The story is not as straightforward as in most films for this age group. You're kept puzzling till the end. The music (classical mostly) fits very well the grandeur of the Swiss landscape. The two lead role players did a good job, the boy was really enjoying his life (not). The story beneath it comes to the surface a few times, but is a challenge to figure out for yourself. There' a good balance of a bit frightening action and relieve. Nothing that's not fitted for children. The cinematography is really good, the placement of the hotel in the heart of the majestic mountains is a good depiction of its isolation. Which places this story in believable surroundings. All in all. I enjoyed this movie, I'm 68.
