  • I suck at the regular XCOM games. Even on easier difficulties I'm still trash. I play a lot of shooting games, and this game takes the real time strategy aspect and combines it with the XCOM command system. While on the field you can order your troops just like you would in a normal XCOM game, while actually being one of the men yourself. I found this way more fun personally because it took the things I liked from the games I was no good at, and made it appeal to me. People complain that the AI is bad, but I found as long as you command them constantly, they are pretty helpful. You still work as a team. The way the commands work is you go into Battle Focus, which is similar to VATS from the Fallout games. It makes time super slow while you plan each move. The class system is the same as other XCOM games, you upgrade abilities and chose which path each solider goes. One of the best things about this game is the era. It feels so cool to be fighting aliens in the 60s when technology was so limited and you have to make use of what the enemies leave behind. The cover system is so nice to use compared to other games, and nothing feels like a grind. I am really enjoying this game, and am so happy 2K tried somthing new because now I can experience XCOM without being terrible at the game.
  • It's XCOM, but as a real-time shooter. I wanted to like this game, but I kept getting the feeling that there's something missing. It just lacks enjoyment. And excitement. And the gunplay feels weak. Weapons don't feel powerful. I also heard they rushed this game and I can kind of see that.
  • Hay i loved the The Bureau - XCOM Declassified since it fist came out 8 years ago i played it, but it was to much for my p.c. At the time.

I liked the first person shooter style as something different in the xcom Universe.

Back in 2013 when The Bureau - XCOM Declassified came out there was also a great t.v series that i think they may have got idea's for the game from called

    Dark Skies - 1996

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115151/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19

    it's like x-files set in the 1950s.

Anyway i think they both complement each other very well.

I myself first started playing Xcom back when i was 19 back in 1995 when Terror from the deep first came out.

    I think i was useing a 486 DX266 at the time lol.

Anyway i loved the detail they put into a 1950s style xcom and it shows how they could do something so radically different.
