Series is very intersting from start to end. Something new i have seen after a long time in Hindi web series. Great acting by all actors. Ending was satisfying. Definately give it a chance.

Disclaimer:- If you are a critic and have good knowledge about direction & script writing you may find flaws.

Finally this series is for everyone but if you are a critic give it a second thought before watching.
  • A Story about a Husband and wife where the husband has a past which is revealed to the wife who is working for the Police. Well Directed Thrilling Drama by Pradeep Sarkar and enacted by Dhrashti Dhami and Gulshan Deviah.

The series has some good ensemble Supporting Caste as Rajesh Khattar, Divya Seth. From the Production House of Rose Visuals by Goldie Behl (Mithya Fame )and backed by zee5 I recommend this to be seen for sure which is an excellent show which great Twists and Turns and great Performances. Dhrashti Dhami looks fresh and confident , Pradeep Sarkar's Direction is good. Worth Watching .....
  • Korean remake of 'Flower of evil'! This crime suspense thriller keeps you hooked until end. Gulshan Devaiah is brilliant though chemistry between leads lacks. But worth watching definitely n holds lots of story for 2nd season.

    My ratings 8/10!
  • One of the finest crime suspense thriller .. I started it casually and my husband wasn't even interested in watching , but once started watching , we both binge watched whole series in few hours ..well made , well acted and u will not lose interest anytime ..
  • Gulshan and Srishti have definitely delivered career best performances to bring alive a gripping script and emaculate story telling.

    Can't wait for season 2!

    DURANGA

    Rating : 3.5 / 5

Review : Remake Of South Korean Series "Flower Of Evil". Well Typical Old Theory Psychological Thriller, Gulshan As Sammit Patel Marrieds A Police Officer Drashti As Ira. Show Of Two Faces Good & Evil. Gulshan Lives A Dual Life Sammit Patel / / Abhishek Banne. Gulshan (Abhishek) Is The Son Of Bala Banne (Zakir Hussain) Who Was Psychopath Serial Killer Of Sarangwadi Which Was Happened 15 Years Ago & Now After 15 Years Abhishek Banne Also Accused In Similar Style Of Murder Happens In Mumbai. There Is Some Twists Were Crime Reporter Abhijit As Vikas Sarode Also Gets Involved In The Case, But The Series Plot Is Too Lengthy & Slow. All Have Some Pasts Involved With Each Other. Chemistry Between Gulshan / Drashti Is Not As Expected Its Below Par. Series Is Not Much Engaging. As Said Remakes Are Not Successful. Amit Sadh As Sammit Patel Again. All Your Answers In The Series Can Watch For Once !

Duranga is a crime drama show directed by aijaz khan and pradeep sarkar.

First up, the performances. Gulshan devaiah has picked up the character, fixed it in his memory and just played it fluently. You won't see the slightest of hiccup in his performance. He is a broken man with an unnerving past. The urgency with which he switched emotions is outstanding. Drashti dhami as his wifr lends a great support in being tough and also vulnerable. Abhijeet khandkekar was playing it very over the top at first but he settled down as the show progressed. His character was irritating at firat. The rest of the cast is okay. Special mention for hera mishra as anya. She was so so cute in the show.

The cinematography did not have any special moment or shot. But the chase sequences are very amateurish. It seems like someone fast forwarded it with millions of camera angles and none of the shots are good enough. The dialogues too don't evoke the emotions necessary in certain places. The background score is good but it plays to being repetetive after a certain point. There is no nuanced thing here. These things did break my engagement.

But the plot is so good that it eventually gets you through. The occasional twists it throws at you. Some you will be surprised by, some you will not. Also the screenplay does justice to it. Its fast paced and also entertains and most importantly engages you at the right moment. For the first three four episodes I was confused. The show doesn't let the viewers know whats happening.

There are some logical toopholes though. For instance, two individuals inside cars are being tracked. One car throws it out and the signal goes out. There was also the second car, right? Then how did the signal go out?

There are some moments which will tug at your heartstring. In the final episodes, there is one sequence where a character tries to choke his loved one. And the bgm along with a marathi song make it a superb sequence.

Its a good show which could have been better with better technical execution. I rate it 7 out of 10.
  • The series is completely thrilled and can't go anywhere while watching. It will hang you on keep watching. It will one of the best series of 2022. After watching Asure web series this was the web series I was looking for.

Anwar Says: After a long- long time, a series on Psychopaths and serial killing , worth watching is streaming on Zee5, in spite of some potholes and inconsistencies. When the big names of Goldie Behl, Pradip Sarkar and Aijaz Khan are associated with a web series, your expectations are more. But the Duranga is brilliant Gulshan Devaiah in every frame, equally well supported by Drashti Dhami , handling the dilemma between his uniform and home.

An official version of Korean, Flower of Evil may miss its sleekness but would keep you engaged all throughout. Latches I found is rushing from one scene to another and in turn skip some sequence and you have to make efforts to tie the loose ends.

Ends with a cliffhanger, with Amit Sadh opening his eyes after coma , may find some new twist and turn from the story writers. Expecting something more from Mr. Sarkar , may be in Season-2. Anytime better watch than movie Shamshera, OTT release this week.

  • I just casually started to watch it but I got eddicted to it and could not resist my self to finish it in one go awesome performance and great thriller . Waiting for next season too.
  • So i am going to start my review by acting of Gulshan, he is a feast to watch. If we leave some minor mess ups here and there, I found acting of every actor on point. Use of special effects on eyes of Gulshan's father seemed off. Otherwise editing is good, thrill is edgy. But my main dissapoint is, why do you always have to go for season 2 of every show you make. If story can be completed in 1 season why cant you complete it. Directors and series makers need to understand one thing that, post OTT boom there is flood of content in OTT space if you want to make something explosive you have to be unique. Every other series is trying to make seasons of even simplest of the plot stories. And I fell thrill genre should not be treated like any other damn genre .

To make something standout, treatment of the script should also be different. Duranga felt like a quality script work and could have been a standout piece of trill, misses the mark slightly.
  • Attempts to extend the series is so obvious, it stops being an engrossing series. You watch it only to justify your predictions. Each time the cops are within arms length, for obvious reasons the killer gets away. These tactics would be entralling if it were in the 70/80s, but for today's evolved viewer these ploys are outdated. As usual, you have a protagonist cop who comes to the right deduction than you have the short sighted and thick headed colleagues. If a character's looks is an integral part of a role than Ira/Mrs Bane is a wrong cast. Her personality is too soft and emotional to portray a cop. Amit Sadh is ok as an unstable individual. Devaya was ok in bits though his awkward expression, acting style & southern accent, were an impediment to be really effective. If you want to watch this series, have a bit of naievity, without much expectations and you just might enjoy the series.
  • I just casually started watching it at night at 2 am, just to see what's in it and I couldn't resist myself and watched full series and slept in the morning.

Very good story, acting, characters, everything was good.
  • I found this series nice .Actors gulshan and drashti dhami performed very well.gulshan is good actor but drashti too did well with subtle acting. Drashti should stick to OTT and try more versatile roles.
  • I was interested to see but then I started noticing from where it was coming from.. Goldie Behl seems to be a Dexter fan 😂 Plot could be a little different however you get the same vibes. All the best!
  • Good Series and Interesting and Suspense Thriller -bring 10th episode and other episode. ZEE 5 always don't bring 2 season of Good series like. Lal Bazar and many series and even it lose CODEM to Voot.

I want this series season 2 at faster.

    Warning: Spoilers
This series took from "FLOWER OF EVIL" as one of Korean best drama so i saw that drama and this series have same scene and suspense same as that one so i already know whole story....
  • If you watch this series with open mind this series is good .I didn't expect drashti dhami to act so subtle in this series She did brillant job as cop. Gulshan was always good actor but underrated. Although its remake but i found it engaging and entertaining.
  • Drishti is not able to act as police officer.

Story is ok. Did not get bore at any point of time.

Still found durgana story better than my last watched movie of akhsay kumar - Culprit apart from drishti acting I think its ok to be watched and at the end suddenly you will not know if series is finished or some error. Literally I checked number of episodes to be sure I am done with all😃

There were flaws in scripting too....overall everyone did decent job except police madam.. Drishti was overall like more style Maro in attire and did not match with police role at all..very mild one...anyways it's good time pass.
  • You must have to watch this if you love to watch thriller. You also see little pinch of love which makes story more good. Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami both did very well. As we all know Duranga is based on a K drama. But Drashti dhami & Gulshan Devaiah makes this more interesting.

    Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 kicks off with more drama and suspense focusing on Abhishek Banne. After a tough life, Abhishek finds some solace with the Patel family and Ira. The first season was all about getting to know the characters, setting the stage for the action packed Season 2. This time the story revolves around chasing down the partner in crime of Bala Banne the serial killer. This accomplice has started attacking women in a way that's similar to Bala's style. The main storyline is about how the Mumbai Crime Branch finally catches this bad guy.

The season starts with a twist. Sammit Patel wakes up from a coma confused about everything around him. He finds out Abhishek has been using his identity which actually helps both of them stay off the radar for different reasons. Abhishek is Bala Banne's son and hiding under Sammit's name keeps people from getting suspicious. Sammit decides to enter Abhishek's life as Professor Dev Sahani either to shock Abhishek or to see a different life he might have had.

But there's more to Sammit than meets the eye. He claims he was forced to work for Bala Banne because Bala threatened his family. But we soon find out that Sammit has always had a violent streak and his parents neglect only made it worse. This big revelation changes everything. While the police are looking for Bala's accomplice, they don't realize Sammit is the guy they're after.

The crime branch in Mumbai is under a lot of pressure. A new wave of attacks on women has started following Bala's old methods. The team thinks Bala's son, Abhishek is behind it all but the viewers know it's actually Sammit. This creates a lot of tension especially after one of the attacked women, a prostitute, almost survives to tell the tale but is killed by Sammit before she can speak up. Now the police especially Ira and her team are in a race against time to catch the real culprit.

Abhishek knows he's in a tight spot especially after the prostitute's death. He worries the police will come after him thinking he's following in his father's footsteps. To clear his name, Abhishek tries to track down Gopu, a man who used to find women for his father. He plans to use Gopu to lead the police to the real accomplice. But the plan falls apart and Ira ends up saving Abhishek, bringing them closer together. Abhishek opens up to Ira and she doesn't judge him for his past.

Meanwhile Sammit's true nature as a psychopath comes to light. He starts getting rid of anyone who could threaten him including their family nurse and a cop from Ira's team. He even tries to kill Abhishek's sister Prachi. Sammit's parents, blinded by their belief that he's just traumatized, fail to see the monster he's become.

The story takes another turn when Rosy Telkar, believed to be dead, is revealed to be alive. This changes everything for Sammit who's been trying to cover up his tracks and avoid being linked to Bala Banne. Sammit kills Gopu to keep his secrets safe.

In a dramatic showdown, Abhishek faces Sammit, ready to end it all. But it's Ira who ultimately takes Sammit down shooting him when he tries to attack Abhishek again. This act of selfdefense might have ended Sammit's reign of terror.

The season ends on a mysterious note. At a family celebration, Anya, Abhishek and Ira's daughter, hears a whistle similar to the one Sammit used, so its speculation about her mental state and the possibility of Sammit's influence not being fully eradicated or even his survival.

Series was kind of slow placed with bland characters. Ira Jaykar Patel wasn't convincing enough as a cop. She did not have the personality, maturity, toughness or edge to play a cop. She had too much of a trusting, romanticizing trait going on within her character to be effective. Gulshan Deviah was ok but kind of awkward in acting and accent to get through to the audience. Lack of some established actors also works against this series. There is no dearth of crime thrillers out there. Sorry to say If you have a list of must watch tv series this would figure towards the bottom half of that list.
  • Guys, you have made a great show, but in episode 3 the position of the parked bullet changes sides. 😂😂😂... Editing mein miss ho gaya ya phir you guys wanted the car to be park on that side so you guys changed the bike's position.
