Guest host Niecy Nash dropped a bombshell on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday night when she announced that she alone would decide which singer in the Group B finals would be unmasked. Shocking panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger, Niecy eliminated the latest wild card contestant, the Bulldog. When the gold-covered pup pulled off his mask, he revealed himself to be none other than comedian, rapper and host with the most, Nick Cannon!
“I dedicated my whole performance to you and you’re gonna kick me off?” Nick joked during his unmasked interview with his temporary replacement. “Niecy, first and foremost, let me say I dedicated my performance to you because you truly are a queen. And you stepping in for me during my sickness and during a hard time for me, and being able to watch you do your thing amazingly and shine here. I truly do thank you.

It’s happening. It’s finally happening. What was once a particularly pervasive and aggressive Internet meme is now a reality. HBO Max’s list of new releases for March 2021 is highlighted by none other than the mythical Snyder cut.
The entity now known as Zach Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on March 18. While it was originally planned to be a four-part miniseries, this recut version of 2017’s ill-fated Justice League will in fact be a four-hour movie. But perhaps even four hours won’t be enough for fans who have been waiting years for just such an event.

All streaming services go through a down period after the excitement of Spooky Season, it’s only natural. Thankfully with its list of new releases for November 2020, Hulu is making the best out of a barren pop culture landscape.
For starters, Hulu is premiering one of its major 2020 reboots this month as Animaniacs arrives on Nov. 20. Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and the rest of the Warner gang are set to return for this long-awaited revival of the animated classic. That’s about it as far as original series go but Hulu is also premiering original movies Greta, about climate activist Greta Thunberg on Nov. 13; and Run, a horror film starring Sarah Paulson, on Nov. 20.
Still, despite all the Animaniacs, Gretas, and Sarah Paulsons, the biggest hits this month might just be on the library content side of things. November 1 sees the arrival of some major TV properties. For starters, racy British...

The title of rapper and comedian Nick Cannon’s directorial film debut (which he also wrote and produced) is a bit of a misnomer. Though it does climax with a song and dance competition, School Dance—which sounds like it is focused on typical prom drama—centers more around gang violence amidst a high school lock in. More surprising, however, is that Cannon draws much inspiration for this film from Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet (going even so far as to actually quote the play at one particularly odd moment). Once again the iconic play is set in a high school. But this time the Jets are The Ranger$, the popular African American boys who “run the school” with their incredible rapping and dance skills. They attract the attention of young Romeo, or Jason (Bobb’e J. Thompson), who wants to join them to win the attention of his fair Juliet,...

After a shake-up at the "Weekend Update" desk, "Saturday Night Live" continues to tweak its lineup with the addition of a new featured player to the cast.
Pete Davidson will join "SNL" when its 40th season premieres later this month. Here's a quick bio of the 20-year-old stand-up comic, via Deadline:
A native of Staten Island, NY, Davidson started his career in comedy at 16, using it as a therapeutic outlet after losing his father, a New York City firefighter, on 9/11. Making his rounds in the New York comedy scene, he was spotted by Nick Cannon who took him under his wing. Davidson was a semi-regular on the revival of Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out improv comedy series on MTV2 last year, leading to a gig on the MTV2 comedy/reality show Guy Code. Davidson, who dropped out of college, made his film-acting debut in Cannon's direct-to-video School Dance.

Teen sex farces don’t come more witless than entertainer Nick Cannon's feature directorial debut. Fueled by endless scatological jokes revolving around black and Mexican-American stereotypes, this hip-hop infused effort features a gallery of notable comedians working hard to earn laughs that never come. Sneaked into a limited theatrical run primarily to raise VOD interest, School Dance is the sort of oppressively offensive comedy that makes you aware of your brain cells dying as you watch it. List The Hollywood Reporter Reveals Hollywood's 100 Favorite Films There is at least an element of sweetness to the proceedings, in the form

Nick Cannon is a man of many hats; he's an actor, singer, producer, host, DJ, and now he can add director to that list.
His feature-length directorial debut, "School Dance," which comes out today (July 2) in theaters and on VOD, is the classic tale of a teenage boy who likes a girl who doesn't know he exists -- and the only way to get her attention is to find a way into his high school's hottest dance crew.
We figured, after just having made a high school movie, Cannon would be the perfect person to share his five favorite high school movies.

Amber Rose's movie debut in the new comedy School Dance is only hitting theaters tomorrow, but she's already lined up her next acting gig. And it's major! Rose just told me that her character Fit Brit in the pilot for Selfie (an ABC sitcom about a woman who becomes a social media star after a video about her humilating break up goes viral) will be a recurring role. "I'm so excited," she said. "I start shooting in August." For now, Rose is concentrating on her clothing line Rose and Ono. She recently posted some very sexy selfies (hello, booty!) modeling the collection on her Instagram. Could you believe that Rose doesn't have a regular gym workout to keep her bod...

Who knew that Mr. Mariah Carey - aka Nick Cannon - had directed another feature film? It's a high school comedy titled "School Dance," which judging from the trailer, is exactly the sort of film you would expect Cannon to direct. I mean, seriously, think about it. If Cannon was directing "Selma" then that would be an unexpected surprise, and we would be forced to look at him in a different light altogether (“Wow! Cannon is directing 'Selma'? I didn’t know the brother was so deep”). But "School Dance"? Yeah that sounds about right. The cast is also what you would expect: Mike Epps, Katt Williams, Luenell, Amber Rose, George Lopez, with Bobb’e J. Thompson in the lead,...

Kevin Hart is setting the record right now for most projects per square inch. There is [takes a deep breath]: his Romany Malco–starring ABC pilot; Think Like a Man Too; Ride Along 2; Ballers with Lebron James; Get Hard with Will Ferrell; The Wedding Ringer with Josh Gad; Nick Cannon's School Dance; a buddy-cop movie with Seth Rogen; Real Husbands of Hollywood; and an eventual new stand-up special. Now Variety reports he has signed on to co-star with Jamie Foxx in Black Phantom. Directed by Hart's frequent collaborator Tim Story, the movie tells the story of a double-crossed hit man who teams up with the Black Phantom, the hit man who was originally sent to kill him. Wonder how they'll work short jokes into it — "They should call you a hard-to-hit man, because you're such a small target."...

Fox‘s Night of Comedy showcase at the Improv last fall featured then-19-year-old comedian Pete Davidson. The network brass loved him and quickly signed him to a talent holding deal. After a small guest-starring role on Fox’s freshman comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which marked his first TV acting gig, Davidson got his first network test for Fox’s comedy pilot Sober Companion and landed the role on the spot, with Fox casting executives bullish on his breakout potential. A native of Staten Island, NY, Davidson started his career in comedy at a young age, using it as a therapeutic outlet after losing his father, a New York City firefighter, on 9/11. "Despicable Me 2" and "The Lone Ranger" have received the lion's share of press over the last week, but it's "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" that has become a surprise box office hit. According to numbers released by Deadline.com, Hart's stand-up comedy film has already earned $7.4 million in ticket sales during its first two days of release. Per Variety, "Let Me Explain" could have $29 million in its coffers by Sunday night.
Should Hart's film -- which was filmed at a sold-out Madison Square Garden appearance last year -- reach that lofty tally during opening weekend, it would already become the fourth highest stand-up comedy film of all time, behind only "Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip" ($36 million), "The Original Kings of Comedy" ($38 million) and "Eddie Murphy Raw" ($50 million).
That "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" is a big success shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Hart's last stand-up comedy film,...

Well, actually, it’s not what it sounds like. Rather, it sounds like Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart are going to take an idea from Spike Lee’s 25th Hour and turn it into a comedy.
Two funnymen have both signed on to star in the upcoming comedy Get Hard for Warner Bros and that’s the truth.
More precisely, the studio is currently in talks to acquire the new comedy Get Hard, which comes with stars Ferrell and Hart already attached. The script for a starring vehicle for the aforementioned comedians will be written by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel, best known for being the showrunners on Comedy Central’s Key & Peele.
Ferrell will reportedly play a rich, soft-handed investment bank manager sentenced to a maximum security prison for a crime he didn’t commit, who hires the streetwise guy (Hart) who normally washes his car to get him...

His wife may be starring on Fox’s American Idol, but Nick Cannon is staying firmly in the NBC camp. The America’s Got Talent host has signed a first-look deal with the network for his NCredible Entertainment banner. Under the pact, NCredible principals Cannon and longtime manager and business partner Michael Goldman will develop unscripted and scripted programming for the network. Cannon also will return as host on America’s Got Talent next summer. “We are gratified to know that this new agreement will expand our successful working relationship with Nick beyond America’s Got Talent and allow him to further draw on his notable creative instincts,” said NBC’s head of alternative programming Paul Telegdy. In addition to Cannon’s long-time collaboration with Nickelodeon, his company is producing the upcoming Cartoon Network live-action sketch comedy series Incredible Crew created by Cannon. Last we heard of a House Party remake, it was February of this year and Nick Cannon was the one interested in returning to the franchise. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) Cannon instead decided to veer off in a different direction, opting to cowrite and direct School Dance, due out next year. But that doesn't mean we won't be getting another House Party movie, as Moviehole tells us production will begin next month in South Africa on House Party: Tonight's the Night, which will be one of the final movies produced under WB's now-shuttered Warner Premiere label. The (direct-to-video?) reboot will once again focus on a music-loving duo who have their differences (one is wild, the other a bit more restrained) and, yes, they eventually...

High school was a while ago, but we certainly don't remember our classmates dressing like this!
Amber Rose stepped out on the set of her forthcoming flick, "School Dance," looking a little more stripper than sophomore. The singer/model/actress stars in the Nick Cannon-directed teen flick alongside Melissa Molinaro (Reggie Bush's flame and Kim Kardashian look-a-like) and Wilmer Valderrama.
Rose certainly stands out in the high school setting wearing an Adidas jacket, white miniskirt and neon bikini top -- undoubtedly turning more than a few heads in the hallways.
