Exclusive: New sequel to hit French time travel film starring Jean Reno and Christian Clavier set for 2016.
Some 20 years after Gaumont’s comic time travellers Godefroy the Hardy and Jacquasse the Crass first touched down in 1990s France, they are set to hit the big screen again next year in The Visitors: Bastille Day.
Gaumont International will launch sales on the third instalment of the highly successful time travel franchise at Berlin’s European Film Market (Efm) (Feb 5-13).
“The first two films were hits at home and also did well across Europe. We’re expecting it to be one of our top-selling titles at the Efm,” said Gaumont deputy head of sales Yohann Comte.
Popular French actor Christian Clavier, who is on a roll at the moment after the success of Serial (Bad) Weddings and Do Not Disturb, will reprise his role as Jacquasse the Crass, the uncouth servant of bumbling knight Godefroy the Hardy, played...

Charlotte Gainsbourg has been cast in Misunderstood.
She will reteam with Do Not Disturb co-star Asia Argento.
The film will be Asia's third directorial outing, following the 2004 feature The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things.
Details of Misunderstood's plot remain under wraps. Gabriel Garko and Julia Salerno will also feature in the movie.
Gainsbourg will star in Lars Von Trier's upcoming, sexually explicit two-film project Nymphomaniac, which will premiere in Denmark in December.
Asia will next be seen acting in her father Dario Argento's Dracula 3D.

I now have to accept the fact there will be several films showing at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival that I simply won't be able to see. I have gone to Cannes three straight years and this will be my third year in Toronto and of the six festivals I've never seen a line-up packed with so many highly anticipated films and today the fest added even more. Sending out the complete line-up today the fest has added three films to their Galas selection and 18 Special Presentations along with several Contemporary World Cinema selections, the latter of which includes James Ponsoldt's Smashed which is said to feature a performance from Mary Elizabeth Winstead that may be up for Oscar consideration. The announcement confirmed Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master will be part of the Special Presentations selection as will Brian De Palma's Passion, a remake of Love Crime...

The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival line-up is looking immaculate, especially with today's confirmation that not only have they added Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master (which will play in 70mm) but also Brian De Palma's Passion, Peter Webber's Emperor, Spike Lee's Bad 25, Yvan Attal's Do Not Disturb, Susanne Bier's Love is All You Need, Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, Nick Cassavetes' Yellow and James Ponsoldt's Smashed. Yeah, there won't be enough time to see all the potentially great stuff the fest has lined up, and more on those films in a post coming shortly, but one movie I'll be sure to see is Martin McDonagh's Seven Pschopaths, which has just debuted its first trailer. Starring Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Olga Kurylenko, Tom Waits and Abbie Cornish, Seven Psychopaths is McDonagh's follow-up to his stellar In Bruges and...

By Sean O’Connell Hollywoodnews.com: A lengthy second wave of Gala and Special Presentation programming has been announced for the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, including this year’s Closing Night Film, which will be Paul Andrew Williams’ “Song for Marion,” with Terence Stamp and Gemma Arterton. It will mark the film’s World Premiere. But that’s only one of eight new World Premieres included in today’s announcement. In addition, Tiff plans to pull the exclusive curtain back on the following films: - “Emperor,” Peter Webber’s drama about the American occupation of Japan following World War II, with Tommy Lee Jones playing Gen. Douglas MacArthur. - “What Maisie Knew,” an adaptation of the Henry James novella about a 7-year-old caught in a custody battle between her mother – a rock and roll icon – and her father. Alexander Skarsgård, Julianne Moore, and Steve Coogan co-star. - “Arthur Newman,” Dante Ariola...
