The movie is based on a Gujarati play called Kanji Virudh Kanji (literally Kanji vs. Kanji), and with a plot similar to that of the Australian film The Man Who Sued God.

In the big dance routine, men in white pants kneel onto flower petals, soiling their pant legs and further blackening already blackened knees. A few shots later, their pants, except for a few knees, are unsullied. Throughout the dance, the severity of their dirtiness changes back and forth.
A verse of Bhagvad Geeta is displayed before closing credits roll, which reads, "BE FREE FROM FEAR. BE FEARLESS AND HAVE FAITH IN THE DIVINE".
