Three decades after the Empire's defeat, a new threat arises in the militant First Order. Stormtrooper defector Finn and spare parts scavenger Rey are caught up in the Resistance's search for the missing Luke Skywalker.
At the start of her vision, Rey finds herself standing in a Cloud City corridor. In the novelization based on the original shooting script, she sees Luke and Vader duel during Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) but does not recognize them.

Rey repairs parts of the Millennium Falcon, ripping an electrical device apart. In one shot, she is showing it with the cables hanging loose down that device. In the next shot back to Rey, the device is now a little bigger and the cables are gone from the same view.
The stars that form the backdrop for the end credits are exactly the same stars as in the beginning of the movie.
