Popular, handsome, charming student Christopher 'Chris' Porco is the prime suspect of neighbor and investigating detective Joe Sullivan, whose daughter Melanie sides with lover Chris, for the savagely bloody murder of his father Peter and near-fatal facial slashing of his mother Joan, who only saw a masked man, in their suburb of Delmar, New York, fine home. Chris has an alibi at his college, which Joe discards like every testimony, including Joan's after her recovery. Yet he establishes Chris was a serial cheater and nearly exhausting father's and military big brother's patience by making debts to play the big spender and even forging his poor exam results. A dent in his alibi may swing the case in court, where no conclusive evidence can be presented to the jury.
