  • I'm giving this a 6 because I have the feeling that it was done with more effort than money. It's not scary but, I don't think it was meant to be. It carries on at a slow pace with dreamy music (and little bloodshed or violence). The plot is coherent if not stirring. Same for the acting! Was this meant to be the pilot for a series that never made it? I think one reason I liked it was it doesn't pretend to be something bigger than it is. Or, drop into plot swamps like some much bigger budget films have done. It deals with some fairly large concepts but, treats them quite lightly. It could have easily been louder, more violent, and maybe more suspenseful. But, maybe it wasn't meant to be...

    Warning: Spoilers
I saw this on Scifi this weekend listed as a movie. When it ended I realized it must be the start of a series. And I WANT MORE! It has a cool premise, twisted plot storyline, that when it ends it will make you scream, WTF! What now! While it wraps up the subplot of the current first episode, the main plot ends in a major OMG!

The special effects are pretty good, not first rate, but not cheesy total B movie. The leading ladies are very beautiful and show the close knit girls club of the war era working women in a mans world of the time.

I love period cars used in the show, and the weapons I saw seemed fairly accurate for the time with the exemption of what appeared to be a silencer on a sniper rifle in one scene, though the scope looked pretty close to period.

I would recommend this but with the caveat that it will leave you wanting more when it ends and apparently nothing forthcoming. :(
  • I just saw the movie and I find very interesting plot, this well made, although note that the budget for this film was not much managed to do enough. It is certainly a good feature film, is more this ideal that can be transformed into a television series itself, takes more science fiction on TV, because everything points only series of comics, vampires, zombies, etc. It's refreshing to see a film that touches a story repeated many times but in a new way , definitely recommend it and above all I hope someday seeing a series of this movie or else read the same , since its end I am very open to interpretation, and go! what happens to the girl ?? is special !? I want to know! please make continuation or series.

    Strongly recommended.

This is a rejected USA Network pilot that was aired on the SyFy Channel as a Sunday afternoon premier movie, during World Cup soccer and PGA golf. There was no promotion, only some vague discussions on geek websites.

It focuses on extra-terrestrial human abduction and re-animation during WWII. The Nazis know about the aliens, but have been warned by the aliens to not interfere with their mission, that involves the future of the planet. Nazis being Nazis, they are not impressed.

The FBI thinks that the UFO sightings are an experimental Japanese bomber. But, there is a FBI secretary and an injured war veteran who have seen the space ship, and who know the truth.

The acting is just competent, but is limited by the pedestrian script and direction. The cast is attractive, and female centric, although many of the male cast look interchangeable. The cinematography is sometimes attractive, particularly the cgi landscapes and buildings. The efx were absolutely minimal. They had a lot of story and characters to introduce in 90 minutes, and it felt rushed at times. Not sure what direction they would have gone in for a full season of 18 episodes.

The main attraction is the period feel, created by antiques from the prop warehouse, and cgi architecture. Hopefully the upcoming series about Captain America's WWII girlfriend, Agent Carter, will do all of this better. Obviously, ABC and Marvel will have much more money to work with.

    Horizon
Just watched the movie or pilot, whichever, and loved it but then I find out it has not been picked up by any network??? Come on you guys, it's an excellent show and I bet there are lots of folks out there who will watch it....I will share it on Facebook anyway and keep my fingers crossed! Not very nice to show one episode and get someone hooked and then just end it abruptly! Maybe A&E would like to show it...try to find a network cause I love the show! As for the actors and actresses, your choices for the roles are very good, period clothing good job too. If I saw anything out of the ordinary it would have been the paint job on the car Ruth Bradley was standing by when the movie/pilot ended...I certainly do not remember that color from back then!
