I have no doubt that the British original Dr Foster from 2015/17 is better. I have not seen it, though. The German version never reaches depth. Most characters are bland. The finale is rushed. But this is a showpiece of one of the most powerful actresses in Germany today, Petra Schmidt-Schallers performance knocks your socks off. She makes this 8 star stuff. Otherwise 6 would have been enough. So it's a gripping mini series, lasting 3 hours, shown in one go on a Saturday in German TV. However, in this version the tale is told. There is no need for a second season. There is other work to do for Schmidt-Schaller.
