A very simple - precise story about vocation , fall and dreams as way to fix the past.

Great cinematography, lovely music - it is a really beautiful surprise to discover Smetana and his Moldau- and fair acting offered by the young Guillaume. Soubeyran.

A metaphore absolutely, wise used . And a powerful message, offering the honest image of vocation, perspectives and addiction as way to insucces.

It is difficult to define this story of a young cook but it is obvious easy to feel it in profound manner, maybe just as personal experience or warning.

In short, just a beautiful film , in the most profound sense.

The Cook is a short and strange film from 2022. It starts with the black screen and the sound of a river running. After that, this film title appears on the screen. One chef washes fruit and he cuts something green. Then, he continues cooking. Suddenly, the screen is black, and the scene changes to a new scene. He offers something cover with a lid for naked men. When he opens the lid, it is not a dish.

In this film, the black screen appears several times. It helps the viewer to understand scene changes. This film has no dialogue, so it is easy for viewers to understand this film. Also, in this film, the chef and naked men are the same actor. It means that he plays two roles. It is so hard and difficult for an actor. He has to change facial expressions. But he doesn't. That's why music and background help his expression. For these reasons, we have to pay attention to sound, face and change of scene. I have never watched a film from such a strange genre. You may feel changed before and after. So if you want to know the ending and what he eats, I recommend you watch it.
