An adaptation of the fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love.
Once upon a time, in the hidden heart of France, a handsome young prince lived in a beautiful castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was selfish and unkind.
Cogsworth: Master, it's time.
Agathe: He taxed the village to fill his castle with ...
In the bar scene, during the Gaston musical number, Gaston sings when he hunts he aims his quiver. First, the quiver holds the arrows and really he should be aiming his bow and arrow... but quiver rhymes with shiver so we'll let that pass. The error, however, is while saying this Gaston is actually pretending to aim a rifle or other long gun. Bad mime.
In the closing credits, the film title and crew credits come with a French subtitle to homage the French origins of the fairytale.
