This is the first live-action adaptation of a Disney animated musical to retain its musical numbers, whereas the previous ones either omitted them (Alice in Wonderland (2010), Maleficent (2014)) or simply had the songs sung during the credits (Cinderella (2015), The Jungle Book (2016)).

The film title and part of the closing credits are accompanied by French subtitles, to pay homage to the fairy tale's French origins.
