I enjoyed the Mexican show and this is literally a remake. Scenery of Cape Town is pretty nice and the cinematography looks good, but otherwise so unoriginal. I wonder why there are no references to the fact that it is a remake, they really should give credit to the Mexican show. I thought Maite Perroni did a better job as the lead character and I loved Alejandro Speitzer in the original. The South African version had some beautiful shooting locations and costumes were great. I think you should definitely check out the original show, Oscuro Deseo or Dark Desire, 2 seasons that you can find on Netflix.

This series won't win any prizes apart from maybe for the juicy love scenes. And there are lots of those. The acting is hammy, the pace slow and the plot & twists are not amazing. You could probably skip the first episode and still know exactly what is going on, it's that straight forward. But I did enjoy it as a sort of guilty pleasure and binged it in an evening. There are some amazing scenes of Cape Town and I liked the short episodes, and watching stunning looking characters make a soap-opera type mess of their lives. The end of season cliffhanger is not bad. Will it bring me back for more? Probably!

Dark Desire (TV series) the year 2000 is a Mexican thriller drama, Alma (Maite Perroni) is a law school professor. She is married to Leonardo (Jorge Poza), a judge who has kept much from her. They are parents of Zoe (Regina Pavón). In this context, Darío (Alejandro Speitzer) and Esteban (Erik Hayser), a police officer, also come into play.
Good actor and actress Fatal Seduction is a South African drama television series is great. Professor Nandi Mahlati is no longer comfortable in her marriage to respected judge Leonard Mahlati, who blames her for her child's miscarriage. Also, she thinks Leonard is cheating on her with his assistant Ameera. Together with her friend Brenda Grootboom, Nandi takes a weekend trip away from home. There the women meet the young Jacob Tau, who is spending the night with Nandi. It is a unique experience for her, she returns to her husband and daughter Zinhle. A little later, Jacob shows up at a university lecture given by Nandi. She tries to suppress her feelings and passion, but begins a secret and passionate affair with Jacob. Over time, Nandi realizes that her husband is not having an affair, but is just making preparations for the wedding day. She ends the affair with Jacob. However, he reacts aggressively and turns up at her family's house to apply for an internship with Leonard.

Wow what craziness. Don't have much to say but I find it entertaining or DID anyway because now I finished season 1 to see there may not even be a season 2. I'm now into the story and would really like to see what's up with this minister guy and Precious. Not cool if it doesn't continue. I can't stand series that do this as people invest time and get into them. Although the show is all over the place, it's decent to me and definitely my type of genre and I didn't find a moment of it boring at all. I like the characters and the story is interesting to me even if it jumps all over the place.. but I really don't like being cut off without an ending... need season two..

I can't believe that Netflix will anchor such a copied and paste movie. I have watched the original movie and watching this one, I thought they will at least deviate to your their write-up, but all I just is copying all the write up from the original movie. And this is South Africans, what a shame!!! How I wish the producers of the original movie will sue them to court. As we talk of pregiariam in books, I believe such can be said about movies. Copying people's ideas is a NO for and such should not go unpunished. I mean where are the movie regulators? What are they doing? This lazy attitude from South Africa directors show be condemne.

All I can say is watch this show for yourself. Ignore all of the bad reviews who basically are upset because they think it's a remake of the Spanish show. You definitely have to watch every episode and do not blink because every part is important. A lot will not make sense until the show is over but it will keep you on your toes the entire time. The production, sound effects and music is perfect for this series. The actors may not have been the greatest but they all did a very good job selling their roles. Many of the reviews was given before watching the entire series. It starts out with Many may not wanting to get into it but after the first 2 episodes all gets interesting.

It is quite clear after having watched the first few episodes that there is a bright future for African productions. The creators, producers, and production designers have done an awesome job in showing us some of the most beautiful locations of South Africa. And this is how a country, or a region should be portrayed for the entire globe to see. What impressed me the most was the series' cinematography, which surprisingly is comparable to many successful Hollywood movies, and shows. The story is delicately brought out, the presentation creative, and the actor's performances, many of which showcase Africa's talent, will make the average viewers curious enough to discover what Africa has to bring to the table. As far as critics go, I believe they are being a bit tough on this. After all, Fatal Seduction is directly inspired by Dark Desire, a Mexican erotic thriller that has according to critics missed the mark for two consecutive seasons. If this South African production turned out to be a masterpiece, it would have been an astounding and outstanding project. So, watch this for what it truly is; that is, a ateamy series, a complete, comprehensive and beautifully told story, pure entertainment, the portrayal of black culture, and most importantly the revelation of what most love stories have gone and continues to go through since the beginning of time.

If you're a fan of erotic stories my best advise is a go watch DARK DESIRE. WHY? Because this story is a South African rip off from the Spanish series. Basically speaking the creative department and the Head writers were so lazy that they copied each scene and even the character names from the Spanish series.
The actors are nice. However the story is not authentic from South Africa.
Having watched other series from Mzansi I can tell you this is totally shameless and lazy copying of OSCURO DESEO (dark desire).
If you don't want rip off TV shows stay away from this show. The show has not even gone deep to research on real issues.
I give it 1 out of 10 because there's no 0 otherwise I'd have given it quickly without thinking twice.
DO NOT WATCH IT. I RECOMMEND BLOOD AND WATER another well researched show from the same country.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I stumbled upon "Fatal Seduction," and it's safe to say that my skepticism was more than justified. This so-called TV show is nothing short of a complete train wreck. From the very first episode, it became apparent that "Fatal Seduction" is nothing more than an unimaginative, shameless copy of the Spanish series "Dark Desire," which wasn't even good to begin with. Why anyone thought it necessary to remake such a lackluster show is beyond me.
The lack of originality is mind-boggling. Every plot twist, every character arc, and every suspenseful moment are carbon copies of its supposed inspiration, "Dark Desire." I was hoping for something fresh and exciting, but instead, I was subjected to a monotonous and uninspired rehash of a show that didn't deserve a remake in the first place.
To make matters worse, "Fatal Seduction" manages to be even worse than "Dark Desire" itself. The writing is subpar, with dialogue so clichéd and lifeless that it's almost painful to endure. The attempts at suspense and drama fall flat, leaving the audience with a sense of déjà vu and disappointment.
The characters are mere cardboard cutouts, lacking depth or development. It's as if the writers didn't even bother to put in any effort to distinguish them from their Spanish counterparts. The cast's performances are equally unremarkable, failing to inject any semblance of life into their one-dimensional roles.
Moreover, the production quality is far from impressive. The cinematography feels cheap, and the overall direction lacks any artistic flair. It's apparent that this show was rushed into production without any thought or care for creating a compelling viewing experience.
In conclusion, "Fatal Seduction" is an unoriginal, poorly executed, and wholly unnecessary TV show. If you've seen "Dark Desire," you've already witnessed everything this copycat series has to offer. Save yourself the time and disappointment, and steer clear of this dreadful attempt at entertainment.

Apart from being a copy of another show, this show is quite interesting; with a promising story line this show does keep you intrigued to the very end. The acting is not so good but the story is interesting. A good watch if you are bored and want to watch something suspenseful. This show has its good moments but at a certain point it seems getting a bit stretched to its climax. Ending episodes are slow and a bit boring where the end can easily be anticipated. Watch this show for its story and nothing else. Acting is not good but the story is interesting. Since it has only one season so it can be watched in just one day.

It was really good. I can't wait for part two don't let the review discourage you watch it. I was at the edge of my seat. The acting, wardrobe, lighting was great as well. People need to give African movies a chance. Especially since we watch all these tired American movies all the time. It is a good movie with plot twist and turns. You get to see what African actors can do when they have a good budget. I don't know why someone gave it one star that is an over reach. It is a great series to watch on a Saturday night when you don't have anywhere to go. Give it a whirl with a glass of wine. Nice.

I absolutely loved this show! I was hooked after episode 1. I understand that this series is a copy of another (so say lot of the reviews I've seen) but honestly I don't care. I loved the acting, the plot twists, and the representation of people who look like me playing in such roles. The steamy scenes were honestly perfectly done, not too over the top, but definitely can make you feel something 😌. I am PRAYING for a season 2!!! I need to see Nandhi and Jacob one last time, if you know what I mean. Good to see this kind of storyline w/ a black cast outside of a terrible Tyler Perry flick/show. I highly recommend to drama lovers.
