  • This single season with three episodes relates the story behind the Chicago mafia and its establishment in the early days of the birth of gambling in Las Vegas, until its demise after about a 30-year run. It combines original factual film with staged film seamlessly. One can recognize the connection with scenes from the movie Casino. It comes across as a low-key historical documentary, which it is not, but is given that feel to a viewer. Interestingly as that era died, the era of booming USA casino gambling began with the establishment of Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, governed by groundbreaking rules codified in law successfully preventing illegal involvement. For those who have viewed all the fictional mob films of high quality this can still be entertaining, as it is different enough to be interesting.
