Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.
The film was originally pitched in August 2001 by Andrew Kevin Walker, with Wolfgang Petersen to direct, and Akiva Goldsman to script. Goldsman's script had Bruce Wayne's fiancée slain by the Joker, which sends him on a revenge rampage and brings him into conflict with Superman, ... ...
There was a time above... a time before... there were perfect things... diamond absolutes. But things fall... things on earth. And what falls... is fallen. In the dream, it took me to the light. A beautiful lie.
When Bruce Wayne drives through Metropolis, just under the bridge, he is coming up on a yellow light. Yet, two cars drive through, seemingly as normal speeds - obviously against the red light in their direction.
The opening credits are set within a flashback to young Bruce Wayne's childhood: his parents' death, their funeral and him encountering a cave of bats.
