Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.
The film was originally scheduled for release in 2015, but it was moved to 2016 to "allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story."
There was a time above... a time before... there were perfect things... diamond absolutes. But things fall... things on earth. And what falls... is fallen. In the dream, it took me to the light. A beautiful lie.
One of the differences between the 'standard' and the 'Ultimate' editions are the fate of a news helicopter that stumbles upon the fight between Superman and Doomsday; in the first edition, as Doomsday jumps toward the Lexcorp tower, the helicopter is just able to swerve out of the way in time, while in the latter edition, Doomsday slams into and destroys the helicopter in his jump. However, the sounds of the helicopter successfully avoiding Doomsday's leap still remain in the background of the Ultimate Edition's version of the scene, despite the helicopter exploding in a ball of flame.
The Warner Bros, Ratpac Entertainment and DC Comics logos have autumn leaves falling.
