Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.
Doomsday is portrayed by Robin Atkin Downes in motion-capture and voice. This is Downes' third film as a Superman villain. He had previously played Solaris in All-Star Superman (2011), and Manchester Black in Superman vs. The Elite (2012).

The initial close-up of Wallace's wall of news clippings does not match the later views in the rest of the scene. Particularly, the hand-ripped edge of the "Superman Prevents Missile Strike" headline is completely different.
The opening credits are set within a flashback to young Bruce Wayne's childhood: his parents' death, their funeral and him encountering a cave of bats.
