  • This show, hosted by British historian Lucy Worsley, is about the British bedchamber and its importance to history as well as its everyday routines. The show only barely mentions monarchs before Henry VIII and goes from him up through Victoria--a period of about 350 years. At first, the bedchamber is very important--with courtiers jockeying for position by getting closer and closer to the king or queen during their time dressing, sleeping and relieving themselves. The show then follows this through the years and ends with Victoria, who unlike previous monarchs, was very private and unwilling to let her private life be on such public display. Overall, a very interesting show and one that gives you a unique view of the British royals. Its only problem is that the show is so brief that it really seemed a tad rushed.
