HAEBONGCHON is a Korean indie drama about mafia muscling in to a neighbour in Seoul and beginning to supply drugs, disrupting the social structure there. It seems to have been made with a Korean-American cast of non performers and doesn't feel like a Korean film at all, but rather a cheap American drama. It's one of those micro-budgeted movies that's all talk and little else; there's no sense of menace or suspense, no depth to the badly-performing characters. The end result is as unwatchable as they come.
