"Are we Asian or Pacific Islander?"
A fun and hilarious B-movie comedy. With Filipino & Mexican inside jokes that are spot on.
The inside jokes are the best aspect about the whole movie, which also works against it. Anyone without any knowledge of the culture is left out on the humor. As the inside jokes are deep, especially the 90s Filipino American references.
That said, lots of quotable jokes and laughter can be had. If B-Movie comedies are your jam, check it out!
If you're not a fan of B-Movies, take away a star. If you're unfamiliar with Filipino American culture, take away another 1-2 stars.

Truth be told, I needed to be beaten over the head with it because all I really know about Filipinos is that Erine Reyes Jr. Is one and a bunch of 1970s Women in Prison movies take place in the country.
The movie itself has a joke on weather Filipinos are Asian or Pacific Islander. I always thought they counted as Latino myself.
It's a perfectly done B-Movie that lets me in on a culture that I know little about (Although I did see Easter Sunday two months prior). And they did it under the guise of a superhero movie, that featured Mexican American icon (almost confused me there. LOL) Danny Trejo.
Mad props to the filmmaker's who put the lens on their heritage, and I hope to see more Filipino moves about superheroes, thanks to this one.

The perfect action comedy portraying the Filipino American experience in the Bay Area, California. LUMPIA WITH A VENGEANCE is meticulously accurate in terms of locale and the culture of the times (late 1980s-present). You don't have to be from the Bay Area for this phenomenal movie to resonate. Without giving any spoilers, the social and cultural dynamics of the Pinoy experience are spot on-language, food, music, dress. LUMPIA WITH A VENGEANCE tackles it all, flawlessly. You will DEFINITELY leave the movie singing lyrics from the movie long after you leave the theater.
Much love, respect and gratitude to each and every creative soul who has put their heart into this amazing project!

It was a really good beginning. Then it kinda spun into whatever stoners can make up. I was stoned. But felt like movie became 100% pointless.
It felt too sloppy. Jumping from realistic to unrealistic to completely unrealistic. It really felt like they threw darts at a board to decide what to do next.
I thought movie was over. But then it somehow kinda became a new movie. It was a little interesting, but felt like it would drag on and on and on and never end. So, I left because staying felt 100% pointless.
It could've been an 8 star movie, but it was just too sloppy and pointless. I really question people rating an 8. Why?
