In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X, somewhere on the Mexican border. However, Logan's attempts to hide from the world, and his legacy, are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.
The trailer includes the Johnny Cash cover of "Hurt" by Trent Reznor. James Mangold directed the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line (2005); he however claimed that he did not know Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" would be used in the trailer, until the completed trailer was shown to him.
What the fuck?
When Xavier tells Laura that Shane (the Western they're watching on the hotel TV) is nearly a hundred years that is not quite true. As that movie came out in 1953, it would only be seventy-six-years old in 2029. Hence, the phrase "...almost eighty years old" would be more accurate.
The "Logan Noir" version features a stationary 20th Century Fox logo typical of films released in the distant past, and even has the old "A Cinemascope Presentation" tagline following the company's logo. In this version, even the disc's FBI warnings are in black and white.
