Lowe will soon be joining the ranks of Hallmark movie directors. But first, she’ll learn what it takes to make one of the channel’s signature rom-coms by shadowing another filmmaker as the inaugural participant in the “Make Her Mark Women’s Directing Program.” The new initiative is an on-the-job mentorship where aspiring female filmmakers shadow established directors throughout the entire production of a Hallmark movie. Each candidate then goes on to direct her own Hallmark movie, with her mentor assuming the role of shadow and executive producer.

Daptone Records has shared Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings’ sly interpretation of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” which will be included on an upcoming compilation, Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Rendition Was In), out October 23rd.
The new set features five never-before-heard covers and a handful of others that were previously released in other formats. The covers include a cross-section of faithful recreations and others — like this take on “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” — that are practically new tracks.

For weeks now Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy have led their fellow “The Masked Singer” judges in terms of the most correct guesses for Season 3. But with Nicole Scherzinger‘s last-minute prediction of Hunter Hayes as the Astronaut in Wednesday’s 13th episode, these three judges are now tied at five apiece. Sadly, “Dead Wrong” Ken Jeong is still the only panelist to guess incorrectly each and every week in Season 3. We’re tracking the judges’ scores all season long, so scroll down to see the updated tallies.
See Here’s why ‘The Masked Singer’ will carry on despite coronavirus pandemic
Nicole was the only panelist who knew it was Hayes hiding inside the Astronaut costume thanks in part to a previous “birthday party” clue she finally realized was a Fourth of July concert. “I had a light bulb moment and I truly believe this is Hunter Hayes and I’ll tell you why,...

It is only fitting that it was episode 9 of “The Masked Singer” that brought us the last of the nine semi-finalists. We had already seen Groups A and B cut in half from six to three. The March 25 episode title said it all: “Old Friends, New Clues: Group C Championships.” Only three of the four remaining contestants from Group C moved on in the competition.
Of this quartet, one of the strongest singers is the celebrity hiding inside the Astronaut costume. He has won over the four judges with each of his performances.
In his first appearance on March 11, he wowed the crowd with his cover of the country hit “You Say” by Lauren Daigle. The following week, he changed genres and nailed his rendition of the R&b classic “”Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder.
As to who the Astronaut really is. Forget those off-base guesses by the judges.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 3, episode 8 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired March 18 on Fox.
Bella Thorne is the latest celebrity to be revealed on “The Masked Singer,” and to do so without any of the show’s panelists figuring out her identity.
Thorne, who was costumed as the Swan, performed “I Hate Myself for Loving You” by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, a song she jokingly dedicated to “Masked Singer” panelist Ken Jeong. In an interview with Variety, Thorne revealed that she was sick while shooting that performance — which perhaps played a role in her exit.
“I got really, really sick right before I was singing and I basically didn’t have a voice,” she said. “I was like, guys, what happens if I literally lose my voice tomorrow completely and I can’t talk? They were like, ‘well, you’ll still have to sing like that.

“The Ncaa has nothing on us,” host Nick Cannon said at the start of this week’s The Masked Singer, and yeah, that is factually accurate.
Fox’s reality singing series was shot a while back, so Cannon had no way of knowing that Episode 8 would drop in the middle of a pandemic that is forcing all of us to stay home, eat our feelings and scrub our hands like we’ve never scrubbed before. (Or maybe that’s just me?) The March Madness college basketball tournament to which he refers is cancelled. TV shows are stopped in their tracks.

Moments after returning to “Mister Robinson’s Neighborhood,” Saturday Night Live host Eddie Murphy slipped back into Buckwheat’s suspenders, reprising that beloved role more than four decades after he last assumed the part.
In the 2019-set sketch, the Little Rascals character was a contestant on The Masked Singer, dressed as Corn on the Cob. Alas, after just a few bars of “Pawnin in Nub” (“Can’t Help Falling in Love”), he was correctly identified by judge Robin Thicke (Beck Bennett).

It’s been handled, Gladiators. “Scandal,” the primetime drama from Shonda Rhimes that made Kerry Washington‘s Olivia Pope and #Tgit famous, is finished for good.
The series creator and showrunner, who also penned the final episode “Over a Cliff,” confirmed that a possible revival in the future is Doa at a live table-read of the series finale script by members of the cast at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday night. “‘Scandal’ is finished,” said Rhimes. “I love everybody and would work with everybody again in a heartbeat, but ‘Scandal’ is finished.”
Tony Goldwyn, who played President Fitzgerald Grant III and Pope’s object of affection, echoed her sentiments. “I mean, who knows, but I think it ended. And it ended beautifully. It’s over,” Goldwyn told Variety.

In August of 2016, Diana Miller, music booker for “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” finally caught a unicorn. “It’s important that the talent is instantly recognizable in “Carpool Karaoke,” and that the segment features big hits,” she says. And so, after months of pursuit, she convinced Michelle Obama to appear in an episode, alongside Missy Elliot.
According to Nielsen, digital sales for “This Song Is for My Girls,” the charity track they promoted, jumped 1,652%. The segment also featured sing-alongs of Elliot’s “Get Ur Freak On” (which saw a sales increase of 312%), Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” (up 42%), and Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” (up 76.5%).
That was then; streams are now. As consumers have increasingly abandoned downloads, the goal of music-on-tv has shifted from moving units to creating viral events. The benefits are symbiotic: Artists are granted an internet afterlife, while shows count those numbers as key performance indicators.
