  • Behind the Mirror started promisingly enough, some good characterization, it looks decent and I thought this may be an interesting horror.

Horror, thats right as that is what this was advertised as. Let me assure you it isn't, it's a drama and not a very dramatic one at that.

It tells the story of a family who move from the city to the country. The father is a writer suffering from several layers of poor mental health and this is exacerbated by the hostile intolerant locals and a mysterious shaman who befriends him.

With bizzare cut away scenes, a plodding pace and all round unlikeable plot I don't actually see quite what they were going for here. Regardless it doesn't work and the result is a slow, grindy mess with little substance and no point.

    The Good:

    Looks the part

    The Bad:

    Plot is just a mess

    Cut away scenes are terrible

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

If movies are to be believed there is a definite connection between writers and insanity
  • Tedious and disappointing throughout with a dull ending - So happy to see the credits finally come.
