  • Warning: Spoilers
A couple of greedy twins read three tales of terror from a wicked book of fables. First story - A woman jogging in the woods gets terrorized by two slimy thugs. The two guys are real scumbags who both meet a rewarding brutal fate. Second yarn - Two detectives investigate a series of gruesome decapitation murders. The detectives make for likable protagonists and there's a decent twist at the end. Third vignette - A paranormal expert tries to protect a woman from a deadly demon. The demon looks pretty gnarly and we get a lot of the red stuff. The wraparound segment ends on a neat macabre note and boasts a lively turn from genre veteran George Stover as an evil old grandpa. Director Brad Twigg relates the enjoyable stories at a snappy pace, delivers a handy helping of gore, and tosses in a satisfying smattering of tasty gratuitous female nudity for trashy good measure. Moreover, Twigg earns extra praise for using funky old school practical make-up f/x. A fun fright flick.
