In his recounting of the Nativity story, Cameron mixes the Gospels of Matthew and Luke together, rather than regarding them as separate stories. He also claims several times that Herod had sent soldiers to kill all babies being born, and that Joseph and Mary were hiding from them. However, the Gospel of St. Matthew, from which that story is from, makes it clear that Herod did not issue this order until after Jesus was born, and after the visit of the Magi. At no point does the Bible indicate that Joseph and Mary were hiding from soldiers. Cameron's misquoting and misunderstanding of scripture cannot be accounted for.
