Just last month we saw the release of the film Welcome to Karachi featuring Arshad Warsi, Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb. Now we hear that the maker of the film Vashu Bhagnani has already decided on making a sequel titled Welcome to Abu Dhabi. In fact we hear that the sequel that has already been titled will again feature Jackky along with Lauren; however Arshad will be missing from the film. Commenting on the same Vashu Bhagnani stated that the script of the film is almost complete and will be locked in the days to come, but the director for the project is yet to be finalized. Later talking about the title of the film, Vashu adds that since eighty percent of the film will be shot in Abu Dhabi, the film is named after it. As for Welcome To Abu Dhabi, the film is expected to go on floors in December.

The dancing sensation Lauren Gottlieb, who was last seen in Welcome To Karachi has two cute actors on her wish list whom she would like to work with.
Ask Lauren if there is any actor she wants to work with and she says, "Farhan Akhtar is one of my favourites because I think I am super inspired by the fact that he does everything. That is almost like me so I can really relate to him. And also, he is super cute. Shahid Kapoor is also very cute and young and we share a common link of dance and stuff where we get along really well."
"I am very inspired by how much hard work people put into their careers here. People are very hard working," she added.
We'd love to see Shahid and you in a dance film together! We're sure it would be a treat for the dance...

This Friday's major release is going to be Mohit Suri's Emraan, Vidya and Rajkummar starrer Hamari Adhuri Kahani. Though based on past reputation, the Mohit-Emraan starrer should have been a safe bet for all concerned, but that is not the case this time around as the usual hype and popular music is clearly missing here. Having said that Mohit Suri is a highly talented and technically brilliant director and so Hamari Adhuri Kahani has the potential to surprise. What must also be kept in mind is that Jurassic World (along with dubbed versions) is also releasing this week and brand Jurassic is also quite popular amongst the non-English speaking audience.
Moving on, the major release of last Friday, Excel Entertainment's Anil, Shefali, Priyanka, Farhan, Ranveer and Anushka starrer Dil Dhadakne Do, predictably embarked on a good start at the multiplexes while the single screens were dull. The film did...

Tanu Weds Manu Returns continues to be on a rampage. If the first week was impressive enough with collections over 70 crore, the second week showed amazing hold at the box office. There was no stopping the film as it continued to bring on huge numbers across the country. So much so that over 46 crore came just from India. Now these are superb numbers indeed as apart from Akshay Kumar starrers Gabbar Is Back and Baby, no other film released this year has managed 46 crore even in its first week. This isn’t all as barely a handful of films have managed this as a lifetime total in 2015.
Amazing, but true!
As a result, the Aanand L. Rai directed film now stands at a huge 116 crore. While this has brought Kangna and Madhavan in the 100 crore club, for producers Eros too this is a big ticket outing, and that too when...

The major release of this coming Friday is Excel Entertainment's Anil, Shefali, Priyanka, Farhan, Ranveer and Anushka starrer, Dil Dhadakne Do. There is no doubt that the Zoya Akhtar directed Dil Dhadakne Do will witness a good performance at city multiplexes and if the film can perform half as well at the single screens, it will be a win-win situation for the makers. Dil Dhadakne Do is sure to capture the imagination of the overseas audience.
As expected the two new releases of the week, Vashu Bhagnani's Welcome To Karachi and the Mahaakshay-Evelyn starrer Ishqerdarriyaan, failed to match up to the week old Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Comparatively speaking it was the Arshad-Jackky starrer Welcome To Karachi which fared much better netting around 6 crore during the opening weekend, while Ishqedarriyaan was much lower at around a crore, during the same period.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is seeing the best sustaining power at the box office since Pk. Both in terms of absolute numbers as well as relative jump in occupancy on a day by day basis, the Aanand L. Rai directed film is on a dream run which has resulted in waves of happiness within as well as outside the industry. If the first week of the film was superb, the second weekend has shown no signs of slowing down, what with around 28 crore* more coming in. This is simply fantabulous and as a result, Tanu Weds Manu Returns has now crossed 98 crore* at the Indian box office and that too in a mere 10 days.
With this, the film is now also the highest grossing Hindi film of 2015, hence leaving behind Baby, which had held the record so far with a 95 crore total. It is a feat that Kangna and Madhavan...

As we had predicted in our box-office column, the two new releases of the week, Vashu Bhagnani's Welcome To Karachi and the Mahaakshay-Evelyn starrer Ishqedarriyaan, failed to match up to the still hot, Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Both the mentioned new releases opened approximately at around 10 percent and failed to show much growth during the latter shows. As far as the audience feedback is concerned, it is more positive (comparatively) for Ishqedarriyaan as opposed to the Arshad-Jackie starrer, Welcome To Karachi. Having said that, both the films still have the next two days of the weekend to pull up their socks.
Meanwhile, after a superb (given the reasonable involved costs), opening weekend of around 38 crore, the Madhavan, Kangana and Deepak starrer, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, saw rock steady weekdays, which almost matched the weekend total, ending the first week netting in excess of 70 crore from India.

We all know that Bollywood films release on a Friday, but the Jackky Bhagnani and Arshad Warsi starrer Welcome To Karachi is releasing on Thursday for a special reason. The film, which was initially scheduled to release on May 21, 2015, is now set to hit the screens on May 28, 2015.
Welcome To Karachi is releasing on 28th May to coincide with Vashu Bhagnani produced film Biwi No. 1's release date. Years ago (approx. 17 years ago), Biwi No 1 released on the same date (May 28, 1999) and it was a bumper success at Box-office. So, Vashu is quite keen to release it on that particular date, despite it being a Thursday.
Ask Jackky why they chose a Thursday for the film's release and he revealed, "Biwi No 1 released on 28th May and my parents are a little superstitious. So they wanted to release Welcome To Karachi on this date."

At the trailer launch of Welcome To Karachi, while interacting with the media, Arshad Warsi, who was suffering from a bad throat, allegedly 'upset' two journalists with his remarks.
It so happened that during the press conference, a journalist asked him how the term 'Wadthef**k' used in the film was conceptualised. To which he jokingly replied, "We went to the Himalayas and took a couple of hours...Silly question. Next question."
After a while, another journalist, while asking a question pronounced film as 'flim'. Arshad questioned him, "Yeh flim kya hota hai, bhai?" The journalist replied that it was a slip of tongue and like Arshad had a problem with his throat, he had a problem with his tongue. To this, Arshad said, "Mera toh galla kharab hai, tumhara dimaag kharab hai. "

Although the trailer of Welcome To Karachi does remind us of Arshad Warsi's 2006 film Kabul Express, the actor made it very clear that both films are like chalk and cheese.
"Welcome To Karachi is very different from Kabul Express. Each film has its own space. Welcome To Karachi is funny and in a space where we haven't tried to say anything big. It is not political but fun. Kabul Express was political. It was very heavy," stated the actor.
Directed by Ashish Mohan, Welcome To Karachi also stars Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb. It is scheduled to release on 21st May, 2015.

It's known to all that Jackky Bhagnani replaced Irrfan Khan at the eleventh hour in Welcome To Karachi.
At the trailer launch of the film, when asked Jackky about replacing Irrfan, he said, "Irrfan is a supreme actor. I can never replace him. I'm a big fan of his."
There were also reports about Arshad saying that he wished Irrfan Khan would have been a part of the film. But Arshad flatly denied saying anything like this in the media.

Remember the vacuum cleaner delivery scene from Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots? Of course you do. Now in Welcome To Karachi's trailer, Arshad Warsi is seen making fun of that scene.
When asked Arshad if he is keen to know Rajkumar Hirani's reaction, he said, "When you have good friends, you take advantage of them. Raju is a good friend of mine. I'm sure he'll see the film. He has a good sense of humour and he's a sporting guy. So it's absolutely fine."

It's known to all that Jackky Bhagnani replaced Irrfan Khan at the eleventh hour for Welcome To Karachi. A tabloid recently published a news story in which Arshad Warsi was quoted saying that he wished Irrfan was a part of the film. But at the trailer launch of the film, Arshad clarified that he never said anything like that.
"I never said that Irrfan was a better choice or he should have been in the film. I said Irrfan is a different actor. I also never said that Lauren Gottieb is not the heroine of the film," said the actor.
So were there any changes in the plot, with Jackky replacing Irrfan? "One has to obviously do that once your actor changes. Irrfan is a more mature actor while Jackky is a young actor. Jackky brings a whole amount of youth in the film. So one had to incorporate that...

Producer Vashu Bhagnani has managed to achieve what no Bollywood film-maker has so far. Vashu’s upcoming production Welcome To Karachi, starring his son Jackky Bhagnani and Arshad Warsi, has become the first film to go to Pakistan, as far as Bollywood film promotions are concerned.
It’s learnt that the Ministry of Pakistan has personally invited the cast and crew of Welcome To Karachi to visit Pakistan and promote the film.
A source close to the project informs, “It’s quite a big achievement not just for Bollywood but for the entire country. Since the film has Karachi word mentioned in the title and talks about the relations between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan government may have come up with the idea to promote the movie in Pakistan.”

While Arshad Warsi has been preparing for many films including Welcome To Karachi and Jolly Llb 2, the actor has other films on the platter too. And now the next film added to the list is Chicago Junction, directed by Kabeer Kaushik. Elaborating on his character, Arshad Warsi mentioned that he will be playing a father along with Pankaj Kapur, who set out in search of their sons kidnapped by the mafia. Set in Uttar Pradesh, the film traces the deep rooted nexus of crime and politics with Naseeruddin Shah playing the negative role. Though other details are yet to be finalized, Chicago Junction is slated to go on floor in July and August.

Though it was primarily dance that Lauren Gotlieb was concentrating on when she visited India, it seems that she too has been bitten by the acting bug. After Abcd and Abcd 2 (both being dance films), Lauren is finally all set to get a taste of the real world of Bollywood, away from mentor Remo D'Souza. She has been signed for Vashu Bhagnani's Welcome to Karachi.
The film, which has already gone on floor with Jackky Bhagnani and Arshad Warsi in the lead, will see Lauren Gottlieb playing the role of an Isi agent. From what we hear, initially Nargis Fakhri was approached for the same but later Lauren Gottlieb was taken on board. On the other hand, excited about playing a badass Pakistani agent, the American dancer turned actress, added that she will be seen doing stunts in the film. Fan-mania has left many actors injured while they shoot on real locations. Jackky Bhagnani and Arshad Warsi became a victim of such chaos when they were shooting for their film Welcome To Karachi on the streets of Indore. The duo along with the film's crew was shooting on the streets of Khajrana when they got surrounded by a huge crowd trying to catch a glimpse of these 'Bollywood celebrities'. While the actors found it difficult to complete the sequence with a mob around them, the security decided to intervene. With the help of the local police around, they decided to control the crowd but the situation got out of hand when the over excited fans started throwing stones at the security. However, in this whole process, a few crew members and the leading man Jackky Bhagnani were left injured as they were hit by these pebbles. Jackky too was surprised...

After a grand launch of Welcome To Karachi, producer Vashu Bhagnani took off to London to continue with the shoot of the film. However, he was in for a shock when Irrfan Khan apparently decided to back out at the last moment. Though Irrfan had then claimed to have date issues with the film, it is now being said that Irrfan Khan quit the film because he was not happy with his co-star. Vashu Bhagnani, who openly admitted about being miffed with Irrfan for backing out of the film at the last moment, revealed that the decision was taken by the actor after they decided to bring in Pakistani actress Rabia Khan as the female lead in the film. According to the producer, Irrfan Khan was really keen on taking actress Nargis Fakhri on board for the film but it seems that the deal did not work out and they...

Playing a conman is one thing and a Casanova another, but being a husband to 13 women sounds bizarre. Well, Arshad Warsi will be seen having 13 wives in his upcoming film Fraud Saiyyan. Following the lines of Ranveer Singh who conned women in his film Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, Arshad Warsi will be using marriage as a means to con the ladies whom he comes across in his life. We hear that Arshad's character will use marriage as a profession and target well settled middle class women who can support him monetarily. Though the story is about love and betrayal, it is being said that the film will be treated with humour. Fraud Saiyyan will be shot extensively in North India especially amidst picturesque locales of Bhopal and it is said to commence from November onwards. The very talented Irrfan Khan finds himself embroiled in an unnecessary controversy. Never known to shun from commitments, Irrfan Khan is deeply affronted by producer Vashu Bhagnani's allegations of non-professionalism regarding the project Welcome To Karachi. While a whole lot of back-and-forth of accusations and counter-accusations were on, no one knows that Irrfan was kept in the dark about the film's British leading lady. Irrfan Khan who has worked with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman was given the impression that he'd be working with a reputed British actress in Welcome To Karachi. Instead a nondescript actress was finally signed for the film. Says Irrfan, "I wouldn't have minded working with anyone. But the British actress paired opposite me needed to have great comic timing. After having done socially relevant and light hearted roles in films like Jolly Llb and Mr Joe B. Carvalho, it now seems that Arshad Warsi is all set to try his hand with really serious roles. Maybe that explains the reason as to why he has signed a film named Babloo, which is a story about a Up gangster Babloo Shrivastava.
This film, which is being directed Manish Vatsalya, is expected to go on the floor by the end of this year. Speaking about the film, Manish Vatsalya said that they will be shooting at real locations in India and abroad.
Arshad Warsi seems to be on a roll with this being his fourth film in the pipeline. The actor, who will be soon seen in The Legend Of Michael Mishra and Guddu Rangeela along with Aditi Rao Hydari, has even signed Welcome To Karachi which was launched with much fanfare recently.

Recently, there were reports that surfaced claiming that Irrfan Khan had at the last minute walked out of Vashu Bhagnani's next venture Welcome To Karachi. However, the actor who has never been known to take things lying down decided to clear the air on these allegations, saying that he amicably parted ways with the producer owing to creative differences. Explaining his side of the controversy, Irrfan Khan says, "Why would I do something of this sort to a producer? I had been involved in Welcome to Karachi right from the scripting stage since a year and a half when there were no producers. When Vashuji came on board as the producer, he wanted to start immediately, but I felt we were underprepared.
