  • Chances are nobody was really ready to put of the bunting when it was announced that 80s children's favourite Danger Mouse was being revived. After all said plenty online why not just show the David Jason era episodes again, its not as if they've dated in any meaningful way - the new series essentially proves that to be true as they have changed very little in terms of tone and style. Sure the visuals are slicker but they are very much patterned after the original look and feel while the script and voice characterisation could almost be lifted straight. The casting is pretty much perfect Alexander Armstrong as DM knows when to raise a vocal eyebrow and Kevin Eldon is perfect as Penfold, capturing the essential traits of the little guy who'd love to be big if only he was brave enough (and actually he's happy enough leaving the derring-do stuff to Danger Mouse). The stories are as daft as a brush and all the better for it - its hard not be smile when the villain in an episode is a toilet which has gone through an unintended forced software upgrade. The gags come quick and often and many of the quips will surely zoom right over the heads of the supposed core audience. As such Danger Mouse is arguably wasted on CBBC and instead would make a nice piece of tie-in programming with Pointless on BBC One - after all they have the same lead in both!
  • I love the old Danger Mouse. The humour is amazing and the animation felt right for this type of show. The new Danger Mouse feels too modern: too fast and hype. It feels like it's made more for kids with short attention spans instead of something anyone can watch and enjoy. It's not complete trash, but just isn't as good as the first one. Also, Greenback's voice changed and I'm uncomfortable with how fast he's speaking.

I remember seeing the old version of this animated series when I was young, I believe it was made in 1981. Pretty enjoyable. Especially the intro theme, after many years the opening song is still catchy to this day.

I got a little curious in seeing this new modern reboot/revival of the cartoon, (kind of a surprise to see they decided show it for the new generation) and let's just say it's even better than expected. The visuals and animation are impressive along with the witty lines and in jokes.

I recommend it to anyone checking it out, you won't be disappointed. A great way to bring back this classic, bigger and better. ;)
  • If you loved the original series, now is the time to catch the revival on streaming. The unique British absurdity humor is fresh & new, and yet a near perfect manifestation of the original style.

Sure the context of each joke or reference is modern but still uses the playful wit and silliness that makes it fun and funny for any age. As has already been noted, the story lines are pure camp, the characters are caricatures, and plot development completely arbitrary... but it adds to the charm. If you are not a fan of Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Stephen Fry (voices Colonel K), Huge Laurie, etc. then this show if not your cup of tea.
  • I did not grow up with the ancestor of this show, but as a child I loved its spin-off based on the "Count Duckula" so much that this renewal ended up intriguing me. Before viewing the series I decided to take a look at a couple of old episodes including the one with the aforementioned vegetarian vampire, whose appearance and attitude were much worse, given the horrible hairstyle and melodramatic attitude.

What little I can say about the old series is that it shows the wrinkles, but it has a personality, somehow missing in this return to the scene. The new show reminded me enough of "Secret Squirrel", even the low and clumsy assistant Penfold is reminiscent of Morocco Mole. Overall it was a pleasant pastime and I have not found elements unsuitable for young spectators. The return of the Transylvanian Count is also delighted, albeit in a single episode. The funny thing is that he is basically a fusion of his past incarnations, with a more spin-off-like appearance and a nature closer to origins, but less annoying.

Promoted, even if for longtime fans it may be a slightly weakened product.
  • If you loved the original series, now is the time to catch the revival on streaming. The unique British absurdity humor is fresh & new, and yet a near perfect manifestation of the original style but with different characters and narration from the moron who narrates Come Dine with Me.

Sure the context of each joke or reference is modern but still uses the playful wit and silliness that makes it fun and funny for any age. As has already been noted, the story lines are pure camp, the characters are caricatures and plot development completely arbitrary but it adds to the charm. If you as me, this show is pretty damn good and I think that there should be an episode similar to There's a Penfold in My Suit.
  • I loved the original danger mouse from the 80s and the new Danger Mouse isn't rubbish but isn't great either.

  • The World's Greatest Secret Agent is back, baby. Out of all the reboots I've seen, this one has to be the best. I started watching the original show last week (watched all 11 episodes of the first season), and then I watched the reboot one day later, and I have to say, this reboot was better than I was expecting. What I like about this show is that they did a version of the original theme song and the humor in this show makes it a love letter to fans of the original (though that's not necessarily true for some, I've seen negative reviews as well). If you like the original show, chances are, you'll like the reboot. The Powerpuff Girls can learn a thing or two from Danger Mouse. The only thing I hate about this reboot is that it didn't make it in America, so they put it on Netflix instead (I hate when Netflix acquires shows and claims them as their own). It could've been on Nickelodeon or on Disney XD, but NO! They had to put it on NETFLIX. Ugh, I'm getting off- topic here. Like I said, this show is just as good as the original, but I'm sick of seeing reboots.
  • ... to rid the world of the most essential qualities of Danger Mouse, the world's greatest British cartoon series has triumphed.

In 2015 he successfully sent in American clones of DM, Penfold, Colonel K, as well as himself and the entire production team.

The new producer is Count Duckula. Terrorizing the public with a video game style animation, fast millennial speech, American stereotypes of how Brits talk and the most witless gags ever associated with one of the wittiest British tv shows of all time, Duckula has gotten what he always wanted, his own tv show.

DM and Penfold are long dead by now and turning in their graves as this extroverted, loud and unfunny mess plays on tv's everywhere.

Take a deep sigh and recall fondly how you used to go tee hee hee with the original Danger Mouse.
  • To improve on the original seemed impossible but they did it.

If they don't make more episodes, it would be madness.
  • Might look Like the original.. The voices are doing pretty good. Old DM= A secret agent the SIZE of a Mouse, with a Few extra brain cells. He was good at Anticipation.. 1 step ahead. Old Assistant= 1/2 bubble off the top..Not stupid but could fall in a hole if you opened it. And abit preoccupied..

NEW DM=Secret agent the Size of a Human. 1/4 extra brain cell, he can find his way threw a Paper bag, but not leave instructions. 1/4 step behind and Reacts to things rather then Anticipates. New Assistant= about the same, Always needing abit of a hand. Willing to follow DM and TRY not to be a Burden..

Entro song, seems abit EDITED..take the old one and make it so they cant CLAIM Copy rights..

The old one was like Inspector Gadget with abit of smarts, and the new one is inspector gadget without the smarts and as BIG as a human..
  • Danger Mouse is a 2015 reboot of a British classic and I've have been hooked on it ever since early 2017. The cartoon is entertaining for all ages. Danger Mouse discovers that the baron is up to no good when he announced his retirement. There is such chaos and mayhem that you just can't help but laugh; when Pandaminion talks in a monotone simpleton voice and it will make you chuckle. One of my favorite episodes includes Danger Mouse breaking in to the professor's lab and growing a singing plant monster & he sang a the end credits. The characters are brilliant the stories are hilarious especially if you were a fan of shows that deserve to be on Qubo more than Johnny Test or Cloudy the TV series. (I still love Squid Girl and The New Woody Woodpecker Show- fantastic).
