- Tala lived with her mother and uncle Toni, in Hong Kong. They can't return home because there are problems with their passports. Tala then snatched up Musa's wallet and passport, the son of a businessman who intended to expand his business in Hong Kong.
- Tala (Tatjana Saphira) lives with her mother (Dewi Irawan) and her uncle Toni (Edward Akbar) in Hong Kong. Her mother is getting seriously ill and needs an operation, which they cannot afford. They are stuck in Hong Kong and cant go back to Indonesia. Eventually, Tala begins to follow in the footstep of her drunken gambling-addicted uncle and they team up to be pickpockets on the streets. They happen to steal the wallet of Musa (Al Ghazali), the only son of Surya Djatmoko (Ray Sahetapy), an employer who intends to expand his financial business in Hong Kong. Musa's wallet contained his passport and hotel key.
Impressed by Musa, Tala decides to enter his hotel room to see what she can discover. She considers it payment for her intention to return his passport. She is discovered, however, and barely manages to escape. Tala is intrigued by the mysterious thief and falls in love. He tracks Tala down and forces her to accompany him on outings in exchange for not reporting her to the police. Tala is the answer to his boredom and helps him come to terms with his anger for his father. On the other hand, Musa is a potential way out of all the difficulties of life in Hong Kong. She does not wish to take advantage of him though as she has feelings develop for him as well. They find a true love beginning to grow in their hearts, but they do not see a future for such a relationship considering their different backgrounds and disapproving parents.
Tala decides that her relationship with Musa cannot be real. She feels that they come from two different worlds and tries to push him away. However, they do not know where else to run but to each other. Meanwhile, Toni hatches a dangerous plan to take advantage of Musa to get out of his deadly debts to the mafia. Can such a relationship survive when surrounded by so much deceit?
