A couple weeks ago, it was announced that Charles Melton – whose credits include May December, Heart of Champions, Secret Headquarters, American Horror Stories, Poker Face, History of the World: Part II, and Riverdale – had signed on to star in the film. Now Deadline has broken the news that Melton is being joined in the cast by Joseph Quinn!

Joseph Quinn is currently smashing it in Hollywood. After making a name for himself primarily on television, his upcoming movie roles include this year’s A Quiet Place: Day One and Gladiator 2.
As of Valentine’s Day this year, when the film’s whole cast was announced, he’s also been confirmed as playing Johnny Storm, Aka the Human Torch, in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four, which is due for release in July 2025.
It’s an interesting casting, but there’s no doubt the English actor can pull it off. Here are five of Joseph Quinn’s past roles that prove he’ll make a superb Johnny Storm for the MCU’s Fantastic Four.

Fair Play is a 2023 thriller film written and directed by Chloe Domont. The film stars Phoebe Dynevor, Alden Ehrenreich, Eddie Marsan, and Rich Sommer.
“Fair Play” is a movie about ambition and how a professional relationship can affect a romantic relationship. In every place, there is an expression for this that ultimately recommends the same thing: not mixing love and work.
It’s difficult not to do so when, as in this case, both protagonists work ten hours a day and have no time for anything else but the company.
Plot
Emily and Luke are engaged, attractive, and have a promising future. There’s only one problem: they work at the same company, and company protocol doesn’t accept it. The problem arises when she gets promoted and he slowly starts losing his position in the complex corporate organization.

Finally! After almost seven years, Happy Valley is back, and this BAFTA-winning crime drama’s third and final season is set to be as nail-biting as ever. These six fresh episodes from writer Sally Wainwright are definitely worth the wait.
Series Three dives back into the action around five years after the explosive events of the Series Two finale, beginning with Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) discovering the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, a discovery which will lead her all the way back to her nemesis Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton).
Catherine still lives with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) who’s now sixteen and working out what kind of relationship, if any, he wants with Royce, the man who fathered him when he raped Catherine’s daughter Becky. Needless to say, Catherine won’t take this well.

It turns out that Eddie Munson was such a massive breakout from “Stranger Things 4” that the character saved actor Joseph Quinn from a prolonged detainment at a U.S. airport. During an appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Quinn told host Jimmy Fallon that he nearly missed the interview because he got detained at the airport by U.S. immigration.
“I very nearly didn’t make it,” Quinn said. “I was taken into, I guess what you could call it more of a dungeon. And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?’ I said, ‘I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show.’ And he didn’t believe me.”

Joseph Quinn is the breakout favorite of “Stranger Things 4” thanks to his performance as the misunderstood Hellfire Club leader Eddie. Quinn is a British actor who started his career with roles on BBC dramas such “Dickensian” and “Howards End,” but fans discovering the actor for the first time in “Stranger Things 4” might not have known since Quinn rocks an American accent. Mastering it proved a challenge.
“You feel like a sociopath,” Quinn said on a recent episode of the “Off Menu” podcast after co-host Ed Gamble complimented his American accent (via Insider). “After awhile I was so far down the rabbit hole, at points I’d be like, ‘Do I sound good? Do you like this? Do you like what I’m doing?'”
Quinn’s panic attacks over his American accent were somewhat relieved by co-star Joe Keery, who has played fan favorite Steve since the first season of the blockbsuter Netflix series.

The writers from Stranger Things paid tribute to Joseph Quinn’s fine work on the guitar by posting footage on him rehearsing Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” on Twitter. In one of the last moments from Season 4, Volume 2, Quinn’s Eddie Munson (Quinn) shreds his electric guitar in an effort to lure the demo-bats away from the Creel house and his newfound buddies.
Quinn wasn’t expected to do all the heavy lifting with the Metallica tune. Bassist Tye Trujillo, the son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, helped with the solo.

Joe Quinn, the scene-stealing British star of Stranger Things, has revealed a couple of tantalising titbits about the highly-anticipated season four finale.
Quinn’s character is Eddie Munson, who first appeared at the beginning of the most recent season of the Netflix hit, and has won fans’ hearts as the big-haired metalhead who runs the Hellfire Club and plays in a band called Corroded Coffin. Munson is also suspected of murder and accused of satanic worship, naturally.
Without giving too much away, Quinn told the Guardian newspaper of the climactic final two-and-a-half-hour episode: “I can say there’s a guitar scene and that the scale and ambition are astonishing.”
We can glean what we will from his response to the question of his return for the fifth and final season. He says, “I’ll be furious if they don’t bring me back. I’d love to, if they’ll have me.

Phoebe Dynevor has gone from little-known British TV actress, to a fixture in 63 million households around the world thanks to her breakthrough performance in Shondaland’s Netflix smash Bridgerton. Now she’s hoping to remain a fixture in Season 2, but admits filming under Covid-19 safety protocols will be challenging.
In an interview with Deadline, the 25-year-old actress acknowledged that her character Daphne Bridgerton’s story arc comes to a satisfying conclusion at the end of Season 1, as her lusty romance with Regé-Jean Page’s Simon Basset plays out over the course of the eight episodes.
Based on the novels of Julia Quinn, the spotlight shifts from Daphne to her older brother, Anthony Bridgerton, in the second book, but Dynevor thinks there is scope to flip Season 1’s storyline on its head. Anthony spends much of his time meddling in the affairs of his sister, without taking good enough care of his own romantic dalliances.

The centerpiece of “The Goldfinch,” director John Crowley’s adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Dickensian novel, is the terrorist bombing of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Shot by legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins through a haze of ashen gray dust and debris, we witness, in fragmented space and time, the destruction of artwork and the aftershock for 13-year-old Theo (Oakes Fegley and Ansel Elgort), who becomes orphaned when his mother (Hailey Wist) is killed in the blast.
For production designer K.K. Barrett (“Her”), the challenge of recreating the Met for a mythical exhibition was compounded by having to reproduce the mesmerizing 1654 Dutch oil painting of a chained goldfinch by Carel Fabritius. Fortunately, the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague, Netherlands, where “The Goldfinch” resides, came to the rescue.

Netflix’s “The Witcher” is best known in the U.S. for the series of role playing video games by CD Projekt Red rather than the fantasy novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski that inspired the games. But if the show ever moves past the story laid out in the books like “Game of Thrones” did, Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich says fans should definitely not expect it to mine the games for material.
“Extreme long vision is no, we will not start adapting the games,” Hissrich told TheWrap during a press round table at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. “I can only attack one season at a time, I’m so excited for this one, the rest kind of makes my mind explode right now. If someone says ‘what happens in Season 7,’ sure I have thoughts. Fingers crossed, we get there.”

Netflix dropped a teaser for “The Witcher” during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, giving fans of the beloved fantasy books their first look at Henry Cavill in action as monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, as well as Anya Cholatra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri.
In the teaser above, which Cavill previewed for the con-goers in Hall H, you’ll be introduced to The Continent, “where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.” You’ll see Geralt’s life is all about monsters, money and sword-fighting — until fate gets involved, of course.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, “The Witcher” is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

PBS’ Masterpiece came to TCA, noticeably absent executive producer/force of nature Rebeccca Eaton, to showcase the next season of Victoria and first season of The Miniaturist.
But first, Eaton’s deputy, Susanne Simpson, walked Masterpiece-adoring TV critics through the franchise’s projects in the works:
In 2019, PBS will air three-parter Mrs. Wilson, starring Ruth Wilson playing her own grandmother.

At the centre of The Commuter is one of those truths that, like the inevitability of death, or how much salt they put in Kellogg’s Corn flakes, most of us prefer not to acknowledge. In a different life without our kids, we might be happier. We’d have fewer wrinkles, a tidier house and a better sex-life. The people we love aren’t always good for us.
The more uplifting side of that truth is that most of us choose them anyway. Whatever the hardship, our family is ours and no other option—even if it’s easier—can replace them.

- Charles Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities"
In 2012, Warner Bros. found itself in a uniquely Dickensian situation. On the one hand, The Dark Knight Rises had just concluded the finest series of films based on their DC property since in 1989’s Batman. They were riding high, enjoying the glow of Christopher Nolan’s work in making high-minded, mature, and often fascinating movies out of comic book characters, while also enjoying the love of fans, critics, and paying customers alike. Yet on the other hand, there’s the...

New BBC drama Undercover starring Sophie Okonedo and Adrian Lester gives you two quality dramas for the price of one…
The whims of TV scheduling sometimes result in the same actor appearing in multiple shows on air at the same time. Remember Tuppence Middleton spending Sundays as scheming adulteress Helene in War & Peace and Thursdays as Dickensian’s preyed-upon heiress? Or Stephen Rea morphing from Prince Kuragin to Inspector Bucket and back again in the same brace of dramas?
With Sophie Okonedo in Undercover, the BBC seems to have pulled off the same trick in a single episode. Undercover gives you two quality dramas for the price of one.
The first is set in the wide, deserted landscapes of the American south and stars Okonedo as a compassionate lawyer burning with the injustice of her client’s imminent execution. It’s all stifling heat, prison gate vigils,...

Ellison, Miller, Scott Rudin and Jennifer Fox will produce. Unlike Bill Murray‘s 1988 comedy “Scrooged,” the latest adaption will be a period piece set in the Dickensian era of the mid 19th century.
