7 | Solidly engaging film may leave you with a couple of questions after its over, but Hathaway and Sudekis do terrific work
Attended a preview screening of this courtesy of a friend the other night with zero idea of what the movie was about so...
The movie premiered at the Toronto film festival in September 2016.

Oscar: Hi. She's the monster; I'm the robot.
When Gloria and Oscar move, the creature and robot move in exact sync with them on the phone/tablet. Even if we assume the connection between person and creature to be instant, the live video of the events in Seoul still need to make their way back to the US. Even without routing and processing delays this still takes a fraction of a second. Signals can only travel so fast via cables or satellite. All combined this would add up to enough delay to be very noticeable. The video of the creature and robot moving should slightly lag behind movements of the people in the playground. Say half a second.
